Do you answer your phone

I used to answer if it was a local number just in case it was about one of my kids. But now scammers are using local numbers so I now I don't even answer local numbers if I don't know it.

Only issue I run into, is I am a contact for works alarm company. They have SO MANY numbers they call from and I had to go meet the cops last week because the alarm was set off and they had already called them when I called back. I think I have 8 different numbers for the alarm company saved in my phone.

I guess I am in the minority, I always answer. We rarely get telemarketers calling. AND one time it was someone from WDW calling me about an email I had sent them with a question. I was so excited. I hadn't put my cell number in the e-mail, so they had to look it up. I was impressed that they took the time to call.

If it's my mom, dad, or brother. Or if my husband is at work or out with the kids and calls. I have assigned rings to the schools so I know which office is calling. Nurses office has specific ring. Principals office is Imperial March so I know to pick it up. I hate phones. I don't do well when I can't see the face of the person I'm speaking to. Its a weird way to communicate. My conversations rarely last over 15 minutes.

It really depends on what kind of mood I am in. If I have nothing else to do I might answer it. Although I will never answer a call from my ex-husband's area code.

Yes, but only if one of my kids is not home. I know it's me being a worrier, but I answer just in case something is wrong and they're using a friend's phone for some reason.

I never answer the phone if I don't know the caller. I don't even like to answer it when I do know who is calling. I'm a worrier, so my first thought is usually "what now!".:crazy2:

Unknown numbers, no. My policy is: "If they really love me, they'll leave a message." (Then I'll pick up while they're still talking).

We have caller ID that shows on the corner of our TV screen. I love it!! I don't even have to go to the phone to decide not to answer it (which is great if you have a cat on your lap!) I've even taken to playing the "music choice" channels instead of the radio when I'm not watching TV, just so the caller ID is on.

Nope. If I don't recognize it, they can leave me a message. By the way, I have tons of WDW numbers saved in my contacts. You know...just in case they calling to say "you've won free an all expenses paid trip." Would want to take that call immediately! :yay:

I used to. But since nobody I call ever answers, I figured I didn't have to either.

I got that one also, if I settled right there on phone I could save thousands :p
I realize outsourcing is big now but would it surprise you to hear that Revenue Canada is using the same Nigerian call centre for their collections department as the IRS?:rotfl2:I laughed out loud when DH played their scam voicemail the other day saying we would be having "much big troubles" if we didn't call them back immediately!

I almost always answer my business cell phone, even if I don't recognize the number. It could be a client calling.

Not so for my personal cell phone.

I never knew how much I'd love caller ID until we changed to Comcast for phone service and it was included. Now we only answer the landline if we know who it is. I love ignoring the political calls and surveys and FOP calls.

On my cell phone, I only answer if I know the number or it's from my city. I don't answer calls from other states.
