Do we really need 2 days for Sea World?

We are considering a visit to Sea World for next summer or maybe adding Sea World in during our next WDW vacation. Do we really need to spend 2 days at Sea World to experience most of the park if we only want to do one or two shows? My kids aren't really into live shows, so I figured we may only do one Shamu show and maybe the pet show. We may only do the Shamu Happy Harbor area if time permits later in the afternoon. Thanks :thumbsup2

Well Seaworld offers A TON of stuff during the summer season. Like special night time shows and events. But if that's all you want to do, then yes you will only need 1 day.

I don't know how old your kids are but mine were 5, 5,12,and 15 the last time we went to Sea World and they preferred Sea World to Disney and loved all the shows. If you are not going to Sea World to watch the shows maybe not bother going? We spent two days there and the nice thing about doing that was that there was no rushing to try and get in all the shows in the one day and we could allow them lots of playtime/ride time in happy harbor.

I think from what you all are saying it's better to give Sea World a fair amount of time to appreciate all it has to offer. I am still in the Disney mindset and thinking that all we could do is "squeeze" in Sea World while doing the Disney parks. We are considering just doing a non-Disney park Orlando vacation so that way we can take our time at Sea World and other attractions and not feel like we have to rush around or be at the parks before the sun rises to have an edge on the crowds
Since the second day is free with the SW ticket then we would benefit from at least trying to do some of the night events/shows and other stuff as well.

If you are willing to skip most shows and are not doing any of the Encounters then 1 day is more than enough time. They usually have a 2nd day free though, so why not take advantage...

Clyde and Seymore is an amazing show. Make sure you arrive 10 minutes early to see the mime!

Sea Lions tonight is hilarious (and different from day) if it is in season.

Take your time and enjoy...

If you really think that your kids are only going to want to see one or two shows I probably wouldn't bother going. However, I just went with three 13yo and they said they just wanted to ride. BUT after seeing Blue Horizons they decided they wanted to see more and we ended up staying later than expected so they could see as much as possible. We have always done WDW and only started doing SeaWorld because my DD goes to camp at SeaWorld. It has turned into our favorite park for so many reasons. But, to do everything you need two days. To just do the rides and a couple of shows you can do it in one day, but don't be surprised if at least a couple of the kids decide to see more shows.
