Our deed recorded Jan 14 & we received our member # Feb 10. We still haven't received our welcome pkg. I sent an e-mail last week via the 'contact us' link on the members' site & have had no response.

I'm willing to write off the magnets & whatever else is in the package that probably would have gone into the recycle bin. Is there anything in there we would ever need? I'm thinking the answer is no, but wanted to check.

I can not even remember the welcome package, so I am leaning toward a no here!

I have my member ID card, and a copy of my contract(I think). Everything else I think can be found on line.

The only thing you really need is the member ID card and any confirmation documentation --- the other stuff is fluff.

I'm not sure what type of confirmation documentation I need. Like a member's card? I haven't received one, but a lot of long time members haven't got a new one yet either I think?

Your official deed, you are buying a time share property so you get a deed. Just your documentation for your records. YOu don't need it for anything but your records.

What you need for discounts, etc is your card and your number to make bookings, etc.

Your DVC membership currently gets you a 10% discount at (almost)all stores at The World. You need to show your DVC card, and photo ID.
Note....kiosks that sell only drinks do not give you 10% off. If they sell merchandise as well, you get 10% off your drink.

Also, in the event that you get an annual pass, the card you get for that is something to hold onto. (but not related to your welcome pack)

There should also be a packet of Pixie Dust in there...keep that!

Enjoy your purchase.

I seem to be in the opposite situation. Our purchase closed and the deed was recorded on March 4, and today we got the welcome package, which had the magnets, a big, heavy booklet with points-needed listings, and an explanation-of-benefits sort of thing that said "sample" on it. Nothing at all had our names, much less our member number, on it.

We got our number in a very plain white envelope about 3 wks after our deed was recorded.

Since it's been almost 2 wks since you recorded try calling. Some have had luck getting the number that way, though not all. Good luck!

Are you saying that DVC card holders get 10% off all food and drinks at all kiosks that sell merchandise as well?

Thanks! We actually got the plain white envelope with the membership number today. :) The letter said the ID cards would come in 10-14 days.

Not sure about food, but if you buy a drink, such as a water or soda, if the kiosk also sells merchandise, I have always gotten 10% off.

My deed recorded in December and I never got the welcome packet either. I did get my cards a couple of weeks ago.
