Do we need a stroller as a wheelchair

We have used a Maclaren Major stroller in the past at WDW and gotten the stroller as a wheelchair sticker for DS, who has severe Autism, for containment purposes. Our Maclaren was given to us and was 9 years old so we tried to get a new one through insurance. Apparently insurance didn't want to cover a "stroller" that cost $800 but they were more than happy to cover a $4,000 zippy wheelchair that looks like this (more or less)

Will we still need the stroller as a wheelchair sticker for this? I'm hoping to add a sunshade.

To me that looks like a wheelchair so I don't think you would have a problem getting it into the lines with out a GAC.

That looks like a wheelchair, so you should not have a problem, but you can always stop by Guest Services on your first day and ask their opinion...

I agree - I've seen Zippees in person and they do look quite 'wheelchairish'.

But, if you are concerned, you can always go to Guest Relations and ask.

No, That chair will not be a problem.

Queue at the wheelchair entrance at the bus stop. You will be fine.

Thanks everyone. :thumbsup2 We specifically got it with transportation tie downs for the Disney busses.

Great, that will make everyone's life easier.

I recommend that you tie a colored ribbon or something like that to the tie downs. This will make it easier to find them.

I WOULD get the stroller as a wheelchair sticker. We took our daughter, age 5 at the time to Disney with a similar looking chair and depending on who was in charge, we needed to "prove" it wasn't a stroller. She was young, looks healthy, etc. (she has had three open heart surgeries and two strokes among other issues). Even with the sticker we had questions; however, once I pointed it out (if the CM knew what the sticker was) it was simply easier. We are just now starting to plan her MAW trip and I am so excited although we will not go for many months. We have waited so that the wish would be HER wish not ours. Lisa just turned 7 (3/3/3) and is finally asking about MAW...I am so excited for her...and us! This is my VERY FIRST post, although I have been lurking...
