I don't think this has been asked already so sorry if I missed it. I've seen and read most of the thread about the new additional fastpasses but do any of you know when this is supposed to start? I don't think the announcement mentioned it but I thought someone might have heard something telling! I'd like to know for my upcoming trip May 13th. Thanks.

They've only announced that we're getting more but no official date as to when.

I'm going to keep watch so I know but I don't think I'm changing any of my fastpasses now cause I am too uncertain and I think my plan is pretty darn perfect as it is :goodvibes

I'd love to hear from someone who can verify if this is in effect now or not and at which parks. A blog I read is reporting it is in effect.

Disney tend not to give much notice between announcing things and bringing them into effect so my guess is any day soon.

I swear I'm going to go crazy trying to keep up on FP+ for the FOF parade AND the 7DMT and now this!!! All a month and change before our trip :worried:

I saw someone on another site claiming it was now in effect. I'm skeptical though until some more reliable sources mention it.

With ya, sister!

haha you sure are you arrive a day before me. We are staying at the BC for the first time and are very excited. I know we will have a great time no matter what but boy this is the absolute most planning I've ever done

I read somewhere on the DIS that people have been able to get extra FPs now. This was a a week or so ago and I didn't have a trip planned so I didn't pay close attention. Naturally this evening we decided to go in May.:faint:
I came to the boards tonight looking for the thread.

Well, there was someone this week with a "green" FP+ available in their booking, but they couldn't do anything with it.

I am guessing this was a glitch hinting at the roll out.

We can't really know when this will happen. They literally could do this overnight .... But I would guess they are going to wait until the Spring break crowd die down, then introduce this, and monitor how if functions through May, The crowds in may build week by week, its a perfect chance to see how a change has an impact during different crowd levels.

By the third weekend of may, with Star Wars weekends you start hitting 8 and 9 crowd levels in the parks, and this builds from 4s and 5s to start the month.

I have a feeling that is what they will be watching.

Of course, this would also be great for us since our trip is may 2 - 16 .... :)

sigh, sigh and triple sigh.. :rotfl:

ok, it's NOT the "end of the world" ;)

still we could only pre pick fastpass plus for 2 days. we have 2 day tickets that we had to purchase for our "free" dining last dec. which we didn't need because we had annual passes.

so now we will use our 2 day tickets (never used yet) once, and then "bridge" to purchase our annual passes for the next year.

(if you go to WDW twice a year, and plan it correctly, you can get 3 trips out of one annual pass)

(but they make y ou buy those pesky 2 day passes for "free" dining.)

SO>> we could only pre book fast pass plus for those 2 days. (we're not going to upgrade to AP yet, obviously, since they would expire a year from now.)

guess we'll have to hope that FP times will be available when we get there. and that the kiosk lines won't be too long (no smart phone)...

I AM happy , however, that they are starting to let you get MORE fast passes after ou have used your prebooked ones. 3 a day is not enough.. not at MK, any way.

It would be kind of enough at other parks, if not for the teired system. Maelstrom..?? a fast pass?? really????

I just read over at WESH.com (Orlando TV) that you will have to use kiosks at park for the add-on FPs, it won't be available on MDE??? Hope thats not true--or, at least, temporary!!!

Speaking of I didn't even get a chance to pick Maelstrom and I love that ride and I hate, hate hate the tiering at Epcot!!! HS for me was doable but Epcot :furious:

Disney Tourist Blog on facebook reported it was available yesterday, but then several people who were at Disney yesterday commented that they tried it and it was not available. They said CMs told them it was coming in the next few weeks. We are there April 26th-30th so I am hopeful :)

How will the extra fastpasses work? Do you have to use the ones you have first?

Here now. Was at MK & Epcot yesterday, DHS today.
Definitely not available (for my family) yet.
We're on site (BC) and used MDE with advance FP if anyone was wondering.

Yes. All three have to be used before you can get a fourth, according to the announcement. I've decided ahead of time I would rather secure 3 good ones for times that work for me and save me time though, instead of pushing them to earlier in the day where they save less time and risking nothing worthwhile being left. Others have a different strategy and intend shifting theirs earlier. Really hard to tell until we get some reports of it in action.
