Do we know what time same-day FPs are made available?

In my continued stalking of FP return times, it looks like for the past two days, TSMM FPs were all gone by the day prior. Checking right now shows "Standby Available" only for 1/27. I've heard that more are released day of. Do we know what time that occurs? Midnight? Park opening? Some other time?

I do know that availability fluctuates throughout the day as people cancel and change FPs, but I wonder if Disney does hold back capacity for offsiters and when that capacity becomes available.

Today at Hollywood Studios it opened up new FP+ at 8:45am, which is exactly when the park opened to day guests. I would assume it's going to be that way at other parks, but will check for you. TSMM was unavailable until 8:45, then a bunch of times magically appeared.

Hrm, how many people would we have to get to test just how many are opened up ?

Even if we could have a few people try and book at a given hour, say for like 1-2pm ... see how many people could actually be successful at booking those, then extrapolate from there for each hour of the day ?

I don't think this is probably really feasible though I am sure bcrook or someone else could give the hourly breakdown of TSMM capacity toss in a ratio for FP to SB then even split that into 75% pre book 25% day of and give us a rough number.

We were looking for FP+ for 6 people at the time that were linked into the system with Magic Bands and all. They are saving back a significant amount of FP+ for day guests because the parks are turning into a labyrinth of "kiosks" which are often just a person holding an ipad in the middle of the street. I'll take some work to figure out when they totally go away, but it could be done.

I'll happily volunteer to be a tester. The more data we have, the better. It will certainly be helpful info for all guests, but especially offsiters or visitors during busy time periods.

I'm not entirely sure if this is what you mean but we are still lounging in the room for a while then in about 2 hours we're going down to guest services to choose and reserve our fastpasses for today. We are hoping to get Toy Story Mania for a time after 6 pm tonite.

As Kenny said they usually open at park opening. At least I found this to be true in October and December even when there wasn't off site using the system.

I'm not entirely sure if this is what you mean but we are still lounging in the room for a while then in about 2 hours we're going down to guest services to choose and reserve our fastpasses for today. We are hoping to get Toy Story Mania for a time after 6 pm tonite.

Definitely what I'm looking for. I checked last night, and there was NO TSMM availability at all. I've checked a few times today, and I didn't have any luck. I wasn't able to log in right at park opening, so I am curious if you had any success.

We were at MK on Saturday and wanted to book ETWB FP for that day. It was in the morning and CM told my husband that it was the #1 desired FP for MK and that he was only able to get times around 9pm. He then said 'things do pop up as available though' and he checked again and scored us a 10:15 FP. Don't know if that pop up was because someone cancelled it or because they released more into the system.
