Do we all have to be present for our ADR?

Do they require all of you party to be present for your ADR? Just wondering if DH could squeeze in an attraction on his own while DD and I wait for our table. There are several things at HS in particular that he would be more interested in than us, and if we're waiting on a table anyway it seems like a good use of time.

Thanks!

In my experience, yes - they won't seat you until your entire party is present. At least that's how it was with all of our ADRs in March.

DH is a great one to decide he can just walk around outside while I check in and I'm always told that the whole party needs to be there to be seated.

I've also been asked if my entire party was present when I was checking in. They did not require everyone to come up to the podium, but they have said they would not check in guests if their entire party wasn't present.

A few years ago, I was the first of 4 to arrive at Liberty Tree Tavern and told them the others are getting off the monorail now and will be here soon. They had no problem taking me to the table where I sat alone until my friends arrived. The ADR was even in their name, not mine. I guess it's up to the CM at the desk.

On this same subject, I have an ADR for the day we check in to our resort. We are staying at OKW (check in of course is 4). We have an ADR for 6 at LTT at 5:15 and I have not been able to get anything later. Unless we can check in early it's going to be a push to get there on time. My thought was to send my son and his family on over and if we don't make it, we don't make it. I had read that if the whole party was not present it would be ok and the 2 missing people will not be charged. There will be no way of knowing in advance if we will make it or not.
1. Will they seat my son and his family (total 4) is my husband and I don't make it; and
2. Will we be charged the $10.. per fee if we don't show?
I could always change the reservation to 4 to be sure, or we could always leave and come back to get in our room later, but that will put us getting our luggage into the room after midnight, as we plan to stay at MK for the fireworks and other shows. It has been our experience in the past that we have almost always gotten in sooner (than 4) but you never know and I don't want to count on that.

You will not be charged as long as someone honors the reservation.

You can check in anytime. It does not have to be after 4. That's the earliest they say your room may be ready, but it may be ready sooner. If it's not ready, you can store luggage and go.

As TDC_Nala said, as long as someone honors the ADR, you will not be charged the no show fee. So, in terms of the ADR, your son will be fine if only 4 of you check in. Just make sure that when he checks in, he tells the CM that there will only be four of them. The problem arises when someone says that they're waiting for members of their party to arrive.
