Do WDW restaurants give doggy bags?

For our vacation next months (two weeks to go :cool1: ) we're doing the DDP. A few of our reservations are for resort restaurants that we're going to eat at and then return to our room. Since we will be staying in a DVC villa with a full kitchen, there's no reason we need to waste all the food we don't eat.

Will Disney restaurants pack up our leftovers to take back for a midnight snack? Can we get dessert to go if we're too stuffed to eat it?

Just trying to maximize our $$$ on the plan. :thumbsup2

shouldn't be an issue, just be mindful of any problems that might arise from keeping food out in the heat all day (as a general rule)

Yes, they do give doggy bags. Don't be afraid to ask.

They will box up leftovers if you ask them.

OT: Not personaly to the OP, either, but a general comment.

This is why I won't do the DDP. If you can't eat it all, why pay for it?

Yes, you'll get doggie bags. However, my experience with the DDP is that I was stuffed solid most of the time and won't have room for your leftovers. I guess that you can save your leftovers for lunch/dinner and use some of your credits for breakfast instead.

i'm planning on a doggie bag for the extra dessert i plan to order! ;)

(almond crusted cheesecake at narcoosees - yum!)

Actually, I found that my boyfriend and I will still be saving money if we DONT get all the food we are offered. We can get one appetizer or one dessert and share and still use our TS credits and still come out ahead... besides, I think he would look at prices of food if it wasn't already paid for. This way, if he wants the nicer steak, there is no guilt. :thumbsup2

LOL, fair question!

I guess I like the idea of ordering an appetizer, and entree, AND dessert...something I *never* do at home. It's vacation, so bring it on.

I know my DD4 is never interested in eating her meals when DH and I are hungry, so I was envisioning getting her food to go. Nice to know it's an option.

We could never eat our dessert on the dining plan.:sad2: so we always got it to go and ate it for breakfast the next day.On our last day we took our dessert from the Prime Time and ate it at the airport while waiting for our plane. It was great. Everyplace had boxes and the CM were very happy to help. We kept it in the fridge in our room. Dessert for breakfast:cake: ...yum!!

When we used the DDP at Olivia's at OKW Easter week 2006, they wouldn't let us take our dessert to go. We had to order it, take a bite, then ask to have a doggie bag. Insane!

When I first sat down at LeCellier before they had a chance to bring out the breadsticks I asked them to not put them out and that I would prefer taking them to go - the waitress had no problem doing this.
And then at Rose & Crown I asked for a piece of foil to take back the rolls.
