Do they serve wine on the Magical Express? October 2011 --- We're back! TR started!

Sounds like you are going to have a great day at DHS! We have never eaten at Prime Time, but it sounds like it would be a fun place to eat. I hope you get a fun server!

I used to be able to spend a lot of time at DHS, but since Porter and Audrey Anne cam along, I have found that there is not a lot to do with little ones at DHS. I has become the park that we end up spending the least amount of time in.

Can't wait to read more of your plans!

Day 3 plans sound great! I don't think you'll have any problems riding TSM first, then grabbing FPs for later... that's what we did last October!

I already know I am going to lose to DBF on the game part, but that ride is so much fun :goodvibes

I'm with you, I could also spend well over a day in DHS. It's the park I remember most from my childhood, and I could ride ToT for hours and not want to stop!

I remember it a lot from my first trip...they had Muppet characters out you could meet and I remember getting my picture taken with Miss Piggy :thumbsup2

Love your DHS plans. I agree, you need a whole day to really enjoy everything at this park.

Probably a smart idea not to go to Fantasmic; it's a madhouse there. Not to mention leaving the show.

The queue for TSM is very intricate and detailed, one of my favorites throughout the whole park. (However, not worth looking at for 60+ minutes, in my opinion.)

Its like people lose common sense and go crazy when they go to Fantasmic! Last time I went, people were pushing each other through the crowd, it was nuts!!

I agree with you about DHS. I need a few days just to get enough rides on Rock n Roller Coaster to satisfy me. There's some other cool stuff there too. I'm just glad the masses storm over to Toy Story so I can get quick rides on RnR and ToT before I head over for FP's

Looks like a fun day. I always enjoy the studios. Probably a good plan to skip Fantasmic! I think it is an awesome show and I love it, but I always feel like the time we spend standing around waiting to get in and then sitting there waiting for the show to start is just a huge amount of wasted time when there's so much other stuff to see and do. It is just hard to justify it for a show.

I love RnR, I wish it wasn't over in what feels like a split second!! I love the beginning launch part the best :goodvibes

Fantasmic! is one of those things that you have to see at least once in your lifetime, but not something you have to see every trip

Ok, so just joining. Kinda new to the whole DIS thing, but I am loving it now that I'm here! Love love love reading all about your themed movie nights and your whole PTR.

Will be at WDW, POP also, just before you arrive, 10/7-10/16!

Love the Monsters Inc shirts for MNSSHP! I'm going with a big group of family members and we are doing a Mouseketeer theme for similar reasons. Its a costume without being a costume!

Happy Planning!

:welcome: so glad to have you reading along!! You will love the DIS and meet great people through it who have a wealth of knowledge!!

Oh how awesome, you guys will be leaving the day we arrive, we will carry on the magic for you!!

That is a great costume idea, especially for a big group, you guys are gonna look great!!

Day 3 plans sound great for you guys. We're not big DHS fans (our least favorite park), but there are some things we enjoy. Like you, we are having lunch at 50's Prime Time -- we've not been in about 11 or 12 years and are really looking forward to it. And I can't wait to ride TOT with Andy.

It's funny I REALLY love DHS, but its my second to last favorite park...but ride wise its up there at the top :goodvibes

Hopefully our lunches at 50's will be great!! Andy is going to have so much fun!!

Jasmine would be in full agreement with you on DHS...I can do what I want in a day or less, but she loves the rides and that's all she wants to do there!! I hope you have a great lunch at 50's...we've been so fortunate to always have a great server...sending pixie dust that you will too!!!

I really hope we get a good server!! Thanks for the pixie dust :goodvibes

Day 3 sounds great! I agree with you for me DHS is definately a whole day and I even enjoyed having 2 days there on our past trip. Of course we like to do alot of the shows and it's hard to fit them all in one day.

Crossing fingers that you get a fun server at 50's PTD!

The way that they set up the show times makes it really difficult to do everything in one day...you really have to plan it out ahead of time to make all of the times line up

Great DHS plans! I really want a whole day, just for DHS! There is so much we end up skipping because we only go for a few hours at a time...I might have to do some itinerary rearranging...

I LOVE ToT! If I don't get to ride it over and over at least once in my trip, I will probably have a meltdown!

50's PT looks so cute, but I can't bring myself to go there, I don't want some server yelling at me!

I can't wait to see the new Star Tours! :thumbsup2

You guys are the park hopping masters!! Hopefully you will be able to ride ToT over and over again during your trip :goodvibes I am sure you will, when I went at the end of September/beginning of October last year there was no wait all day the day I went to DHS

I can't remember the last time I went on Star Tours, so I barely remember the old ride, its going to be great to ride it this time around :goodvibes

So I'm a little bit behind, but catching up!

First off, I'm so glad you liked L&S! Stitch has been a favorite of mine for some time now, and friends of mine who haven't seen the movie wonder why!:goodvibes

Your DHS plans sound fun as well. I think we're going to do the same "get FP for TSM and then immediately get in the standby line" because simply EVERYONE we have spoken to says it is the most fun in the park!:confused3

L&S was so cute, we rented the movie, but I think that is one that I will buy :cutie:

I am excited to see the details of the line and see Mr Potato head, the fast pass line really doesn't allow you to see much of the line

Looks like a fun 3rd day! I have mixed feelings about DHS, I LOVE the rides here but seeing as I can't ride TSM, RnRc and TOT over and over, I have trouble filling the space in between. Though I also love the Animation class!

I hope you get a good server at Prime Time, I always liked this restaurant but my mom isn't much of a "comfort food" type person so I never get to eat here anymore...

The last few times I went, I had to ride the thrill rides alone, but DBF likes them so that will make it much better!! I can't wait to try the animation class, I am a terrible artist, but the way they teach it, my drawings actually come out ok :thumbsup2

My parents didn't love the food there, but they loved the experience, we went two years ago and they still talk about that meal :rotfl:

Mark, I'll make you a deal. You start loving your rides on TOT and I'll love Stitch. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

This sounds like a fair deal! :)

No, I think I like it the way we have it. It's a lot easier to find Stitch merchandise to send to you. :rotfl2:

Ahhh! How can you not love ToT...its just so awesome :goodvibes I feel like its a ride Stitch would love :rotfl:

I used to think DHS was a multiple days park, since riding ToT and RnRC never gets old. The last time we were there with toddlers, one day was plenty. I hope you get a fun server at 50's PT.

I never thought about it with kids, there really isn't too much to do or entertain with there for them! I worked at Playhouse Disney for a little bit back in 2007 and the masses of children in there always made me nervous :lmao:

I am joining in a little late (saw your post on another TR I'm reading!). First I have to say that's so cool you met Tim on the DIS! I saw that thread with everyone's profiles and keep debating on putting mine up.

I haven't read everything yet but thanks to your chapter links I saw some of the stuff with your theme nights. So much fun!

Can't wait for more of your plans.

Welcome aboard!! :goodvibes I am a TR hopper - I find TRs through other ones that I am reading!!

I was pretty sure no one ever found anyone through there, I still can't believe thats how we met :goodvibes...It is difficult to explain to non disboard people!

The food is pretty good, but the atmosphere there is what makes it worth checking it out, even the decor is worth sneaking a peek at :goodvibes

There really isn't a whole lot of children to do there, even some of the slow rides such as Great Movie Ride, scared me as a kid

For our next theme night, it was Tim's pick for a movie choice...so he chose....

ratatouille.jpg

We have both seen this movie before, but we really enjoy it and were excited to see it again, because we are having lunch at Chefs and hoping to see Remy during our trip :goodvibes

Tim was off work earlier than I was this evening so he actually planned, decorated, etc. I was very surprised to come home and find a menu taped to the front door

SAM_0416.jpg

I knew this was going to be a great night!!

When I walked in there was classical music playing and Tim had decorated the condo

SAM_0413.jpg

SAM_0411.jpg

SAM_0412.jpg

It was really thoughtful of him and I was really surprised by the decorations and he told me that he would be waiting on me this night, I wasn't going to argue :thumbsup2

He also made some place mats for us again, in French :goodvibes

SAM_0417.jpg

SAM_0415.jpg

SAM_0414.jpg

First up was french cheese (we picked this out together) and french bread

SAM_0418.jpg

Yum!! sooo good! :goodvibes We also started out with a french sparkling wine :goodvibes

We also had a delicious quiche...which I don't seem to have a picture of :confused3 but don't worry it was good!!

We started the movie up and enjoyed our favorite mini chef Remy!! This movie is so cute and has such a fun story to it! I still loved it :goodvibes

We had desserts up next...different cheesecakes (regular, mango, and chocolate) and chocolate mousse :cutie:

SAM_0418.jpg

Tim was even extra fancy and decorated the plate with chocolate :thumbsup2

We continued the movie and had the rest of our wine

SAM_0420.jpg

It was a GREAT night...I surely didn't mind having it all planned by Tim and being waited on...the theme nights seem to get better and better, I think we got the hang of this :goodvibes

LOVE this theme night!

Have you been to Les Chefs before? (I can't remember if you've said you have or not...) I'll be trying it for the 1st time next month. Is it sad that I'm really looking forward to their mac & cheese?

Shannon, Tim is a KEEPER! He did a great job with everything.

Ratatouille is yet another movie we've not seen (I've added it to the list with Toy Story 2 and 3, Raphunzel and Princess and the Frog to try and watch before our trip).

I've been a total lurker until now, but this last theme night (combined with happy hour wine night!) has me motivated to speak up!

I couldn't agree more:

Shannon, Tim is a KEEPER! He did a great job with everything.

This was the sweetest thing ever and a fantastic way to watch the movie. I admit, I'm a little jealous!! :thumbsup2

Keep it up. We're going for our first trip ever to WDW in Oct also, so keep it comin'!

I remember it a lot from my first trip...they had Muppet characters out you could meet and I remember getting my picture taken with Miss Piggy :thumbsup2

From another Disney message board I frequent, I just learned that they still have Kermit and Miss Piggy in DHS regularly. It's going to be my mission on our next trip to find them!

I love how much thought has been going in to your theme nights! Ratatouille is one of the few Disney movies I still haven't seen - it's on my Netflix queue, so hopefully soon!

It was such a great theme night!! I like when are able to surprise each other :goodvibes

We have not been to Chefs before, but we have been checking out the menu and I was eyeing the mac and cheese too :rotfl: I heard it is different than regular mac and cheese, so that made me feel better for wanting it!

He is pretty great :goodvibes The best part is he was so excited to surprise me with the theme night, that made me smile!

Those are all GREAT movies!! Too bad you don't live nearby, I have those all on Dvd :rotfl:

So glad to have lured you out of lurking :goodvibes It was one of my favorites and the food was sooo good...Tim knows I love pretty much any kind of cheese and any kind of dessert and well any kind of wine :lmao:

You are going to have a blast on your first trip, you aren't going to be able to stay away!!

From another Disney message board I frequent, I just learned that they still have Kermit and Miss Piggy in DHS regularly. It's going to be my mission on our next trip to find them!

I am going to have to be doing some serious character searching than!! I was showing Tim pictures the other day of the Muppets area they had in DHS, I think it was from a trip in 1994.

Ratatouille is such a sweet movie, I almost forgot it was an animated movie at some parts :goodvibes

What an AWESOME movie night! Your DBF did a great job! That was so sweet of him to do all that (especially since most guys wouldn't) and it must be so much fun to be with someone that loves Disney as much as you do! When I try talking to my DF about stuff, he just says: I'm not fluent in Disney language so I'm having a hard time comprehending you :rotfl: Oh well, I agree, you've got a keeper! Of course, I'll probably keep mine too regardless of his lack of Disney knowledge :goodvibes

Love the Ratatouille night! How awesome is it of Tim to do all that for you? You have a keeper in him for sure :lovestruc I can't even get my DH to attend most of our theme nights, well I guess I could but he likes to tease me about my "obsession" so I tend to plan our nights when he has to work!

We have not been to Chefs before, but we have been checking out the menu and I was eyeing the mac and cheese too :rotfl: I heard it is different than regular mac and cheese, so that made me feel better for wanting it!

I am all about some "grown-up" mac & cheese! Mmmmmmm, I can't wait to try it!

Yeah Tim... way to go, make all the other guys look bad. :headache: I'm glad DW isn't on the DIS boards.:lmao::rotfl2:

Looks like another fun theme night.:thumbsup2

I finally finished reading! The bad thing is I was almost through the report and had made notes about what to comment on then life happened and I lost my notes. Right after we were messaging about those conventions my dog died. Then about two weeks ago I smashed two of my fingers in a door at work. Not pretty. Hoping to update my own PTR soon. Just hard to type too much still.

So, let me think about what I wanted to say...

You guys do amazing Disney nights. I have no imagination but like how you just make food of that genre... French for Ratatouille, Hawaiian for Lilo and Stitch, Picnic for Bug's Life... Good job! :thumbsup2 I really should start doing those. I think the kids would like it. But DH gets home pretty late and other nights have DD in dance class/girl scouts or DS in boy scouts. Then I work at night on the weekend. It would probably have to be lunches on Sundays.

Your first two days totally match mine! We will be at the MNSSHP on October 16 and spending the day at Epcot October 17. I will have to look for your shirts at the party. I'll be the only one not dressed up in my family. DD is doing BBB while DH and DS are heading over to PL. More power to the women who want to do BBB themselves but I have no desire.

I want to eat at Chefs de France but there are just so many awesome places we haven't eaten at yet. It was down to either Chefs or Tutto Italia. DD loves Spaghetti and/or pizza so I think she will be happier there. DS is taking French this year so I thought he would like Chefs. However he's only in seventh grade so maybe he'll actually know how to speak it on our next trip and enjoy Chefs more then. We do love Remy though.

I think I'll stop and look at Hot Topic today when I take some clothes back to The Children's Place. I hate going to the mall, I get sad every time I walk by the spot that used to have the Disney Store.:sad1:

Can't remember anything else. Maybe it will come to me later. I'm not reading it all again though, sorry:rotfl:

Sounds like a wonderful theme night! And how nice of Tim to do all the planning and cooking.

I know, hes a sweetie, we are both new at cooking so we might take a class sometime soon :goodvibes

Yeah, hes pretty much awesome, but shhh dont let him know that :rotfl: Suprisingly sometimes our shared love of Disney can cause some friction...for example we have some differences in opinions on stuff and I think in our friendships and families we are used to being the Disney go to person

Some weeks we really get into it and some we just have a lot going on or feel lazy :goodvibes This one was really great and Tim was really excited about watching this movie. Sometimes I want to do the crafts but since its just us it seems silly :rotfl:

Yeah Tim... way to go, make all the other guys look bad. :headache: I'm glad DW isn't on the DIS boards.:lmao::rotfl2:

Looks like another fun theme night.:thumbsup2

:lmao: Yeah he planned a great night...but dont worry he still does stuff like leaves his socks everywhere and irritates me :lmao:

I am all about some "grown-up" mac & cheese! Mmmmmmm, I can't wait to try it!

Every time I look at the menu I still want the mac and cheese most!

Wow, looks like a great theme night!

Thank you :cutie:

I love Ratatouille! Your theme nights just keep getting better and better. :goodvibes

Thank you so much :goodvibes Its such a cute movie!! I hope we see Remy in October!

Great theme night!:thumbsup2

Thank you :goodvibes

I saw about your dog, I'm so sorry :sad2:
We LOVE doing the theme nights, they are so much fun and it also helps vary our typical dinners up a little :thumbsup2 Sometimes we have weeks where we just have to skip it, but we try to fit one movie in a week during a week night after work when we would normally just be lazy anyway. Also its just us 2 which makes it easier of course

I have never been to Tutto Italia...the menu looks super yummy and that is one that I do want to check out soon :thumbsup2 I can't wait to hear what you think about it. Well I guess we made some good plans at the first two days, too funny we have the same exact plans those days :goodvibes

Theres a Disney Outlet in Potomac Mills that we are dying to go and check out :goodvibes

First I have to apologize for being pretty much MIA the last week or so. I have been pretty busy at work and stuff, but now I have time during the strong rain and wind we are getting from the hurricane :thumbsup2

Our Day 4 plans are all about our favorite park

MAGIC KINGDOM :cool1:

magic-kingdom.jpg

We are going to wake up bright and EARLY to make our way over to the Poly and to Captain Cooks to have my first ever Tonga Toast

tonga-toast-2.jpg

YUUM!!!! I cannot wait to try this...hope I picked a correct picture of it, otherwise I am dreaming of some other delightful breakfast :rotfl:

Once we are done breakfast we are hopping a monorail over to MK for rope drop, I cannot wait for this, I haven't seen RD in at least a few years

After RD we are going to head down Main Street towards our first land...Adventureland :goodvibes Of course I will most likely make Tim stop to get a photopass pic in front of the castle this morning :thumbsup2 I ordered the photopass cd the other day, so I have to make FULL use of this :goodvibes

I am not really sure about what order we may do things, but our main objective is to ride pretty much everything working clockwise

I think we are going to stop at Pecos Bills for lunch, that was Tim's pick and I wasn't going to object, I like all the different toppings

We are spending all day at MK, at least thats how we have it planned, without any breaks back at the resort. I know that sounds crazy, but that way we can hopefully take it slow and take some breaks to just relax and take in the magic :wizard:

I will be going to the Enchanted Tiki Room for the first time during this trip, I am really excited to see it, I dont know how I skipped over it all my life :confused3

We are going to find dinner somewhere in MK at a counter service restaurant and stay for an awesome parade

summer3.jpg

and Wishes too of course!!
