Do the resorts do anything for birthdays?

My MIL is celebrating a birthday while on our DW trip. Will the resort do anything like balloons or anything in her room if we ask?

If you want something for her I suggest arranging and paying for it. Yes Disney does sometimes give guests balloons or a card but it is hit or miss.

We stayed at POR last July for my son's birthday. They had a birthday button for him at check-in and he got a card signed by the characters a day or two later, it was in the room when we came back one afternoon. If you want something like balloons or flowers, contact the Disney florist and arrange to have something delivered. You can also order cakes from most the restaurants, check with them ahead of time.
