Hmmm, maybe I should try them. I kill everything around the house (plant wise). I even killed one of those worms you put into the plant telling you it needs water. Everyone got a kick out of that one...
It isn't as pretty, but some garden centers and Lowe's, Home Depot garden centers sell a device that allows you to use a plastic soda bottle to water. The gadget looks a little like a tent spike and twists onto the neck of the bottle. I've used both the 2 liter and 16oz bottles and they work well. I only use them when we vacation. I have one huge peace lily that I used two 2 liter bottles when we were gone for a 2 week vacation.
Mine look like this:

Some of these allow you to use pretty colored wine bottles and may be more sturdy than the globe waterers.
Here is some info using just the soda bottle:

I killed one of those worms too
I think that my family has finally forgotten about it

It's good to know these work. I have a plant in my house that I keep forgetting to water, I feel so bad for it! This might be the solution for me. Are they sold in stores yet, or just online?
the ones advertised on TV? I'd like to use them for my deck plants in the spring if they work.
OP, If you want, PM me your address and I will send you one. I have quite a few in my basement that I have never used. I will slap your address on it and send it out.
