Well, to be honst i totally love it too!!!
My DD (3) loves getting autographs cuz it gets her up and close with the characters. I swear in the 10 days we were there last time we got Minnie Mouse, Mickey, and some princesses like 10 times!!!
I like being that close to them too! :thumbsup2

Oh yes! My daughters keep everyone of the autograph books and show friends all the time. They are very proud of them. :sunny:

Most kids LOVE getting autographs- gives them something to ask the character when they see them. DD just discovered this when we went last fall. She loved runnung around to all the characters to get their signatures- and they all make really cute autographs, too.

As for me, I wish she wasn't so into the autographs- I'd rather spend time riding the rides and seeing shows than standing in line to get signatures. But, I guess it's all a part of the Disney experience!!

When DD was 5 she LOVED the autographs. She got to meet the characters and have her picture taken with them, chat with them, etc. She wasn't as excited about it on the last trip, but I think it's fun. For me, it's a chance to let go and be silly - really, where else am I going to be able to have a 'conversation' with Eeyore over my Tshirt that has his picture on it without having everyone look at me like I'm nuts? :)

5yo DD loves to collect character autographs. She also loves to get her picture with the characters. Her 17 month old brother picked up real quick on the whole autograph thing. At our first character stop in AK he saw his sister asking for the autographs and he started to imitate her when it was his turn even though he had no book!!!! By the end of seeing all the Pooh characters he pointed to her book while looking at us and making his asking sounds, "uh, uh, uh." We knew he wanted a book too. He loved the charcters too and gave each big hugs just like his sister. :)

Honestly, we did the autographs last time and the kids haven't looked at them at all since our trip. They DO look at the photos all the time though. Next time, we may skip the autographs and just go for interaction and a photo instead.

If the kids looked at the autographs, we'd do it again though. Meeting the characters is their favorite part.

My DD6 likes to get autographs, but really loves the pictures. She looks at themm over and over at home. She will take a hundred pictures with the same princess or minnie mouse. She has a regular autograph book and than her "special' book which is only for the princesses and girl characters  whatever makes her happy.

DGD who is 4 loved getting autographs. On our first night at CM, DSIL had to make a mad dash to the gift shop so that she could join in the fun that the other kids were having. It sure helped her to overcome a bit if shyness!

Now that we are home, she shows everyone who visits her autograph book.

I took DS to Disney for the first time when he was 8... I really did not think that getting autographs was something that he would be interested in... so what did we do? Spent the entire trip standing in line for autographs (atleast that is what it felt like!). The last trip he was 10, and he had no desire to get autographs. I don't think he has looked at his autograph book since the day we left Pop in 2004.

I got my kids books at Michael's that were $3. They have plain covers and I got Disney stickers for the kids to decorate their books on the plane. The pages are 4x6, plain white and perforated. For Christmas each child got a Disney photo album. I figured we would put the autograph on one page and the picture of them with that character on the adjacent page. My kids are so excited to fill up their books. :)

My DDs 8 & 6 love getting autographs. On our last trip my it was my DDs birthday and she loved it when they wrote Happy Birthday in her book. :goodvibes

That's what I did with last years pics and autographs. It turned out cute.

My daughter loves getting autographs. Her first trip she was 1 and we weren’t sure if she would be scared but saw goofy for the first time and the rest was history. That was actually one of the major highlights from that trip. We now cant pass a character without visiting.

I can't wait. Of course I made a mistake already. I only got 3 books figuring that my 2yo wouldn't need one. Boy was I wrong. :rotfl2: I had to run back out and wouldn't you know they didn't have any left that were just like the ones I have for the big kids. If you see someone getting autographs in a big group and the 2yo is throwing a tantrum...that would be why! :lmao:

My kids adored getting autographs last year! They get their books out all the time & look at the signatures.

We only get a character's autograph once, though. For example, if we run into Chip and we already have his autograph, we don't get it again - we just take the kids' pictures w/ the character w/o getting another autograph.

At Epcot, instead of buying the Kidcot Passport, we had the CM's at the Kidcot stations sign & stamp their autograph books so we had all the signatures in one place.

This year, we're planning on bringing back the same autograph books to add signatures to when we run into characters whose signatures we don't have yet.

We had lots of fun w/ our autograph books - it was one of their favorite parts of the trip! :goodvibes

DS wanted autographs when he was 6. By the next year he was a little less concerned with getting autographs (he didn't want to wait in line). The next time he was 9 and had no interest in autographs. It was fun to do when he was younger but I don't think he ever looked at the autographs once we got home.

I think it really depends on you kids. If they are diehard Disney character fans, they will really enjoy it. Otherwise, it might not be that big of a deal. Sometimes it becomes a competition to get autographs and the lines can be a pain since the characters come and go. With our DS we would never wait if there was more than a couple of people in line (this was during a slow time) and he was fine with that.

We had a few kids in our group & they loved it. My son was 5 at the time we went he took one look at Jasmine and he was running with his book.

Recently, DS and I were looking through our photo album and talking about the trip (from 2 years ago for the 100th time!). This time though we got to his favorite pic of him getting an autograph from Buzz, he wanted me to get his autograph book and show him where Buzz stamped it. Then we had to go back through the whole photo album and and match up pics of him getting autographs to the autographs in the book! I thought it was really cute..... :wizard:
