Do TA's have access to rooms not showing available direct from Disney

First time cruiser here. After a ton of online research I finally decided to get serious about our spring break 2019 and there is one 4 day cruise on the Dream that fits our dates perfectly. And price seems ok compared to the summer.
I am finding that room availability is very limited. Which makes sense...I am the type to jump on WDW trips way farther in advance so I know how booked up things can get.
I sent a request for a quote to the TA that Dis Unplugged features because I'm such a newbie.
My question: Are there blocks of rooms that looked all selected on the Disney Cruise website, but the TA's have access to them? Or are they looking at the same room availability that I can see?

The way the DCL website is set up, they only show some of the rooms which are available. There are likely more rooms available than what you see online. A TA can book those for you, or if you were wanting to book direct with DCL yourself, I'd recommend calling them.

Thank you! On the quote request I noted a few floor preferences and area of the ship, but was worried there just wasn't much left showing available on the DCL website.

No, TA's see what you see. The advantage to using them can be their knowledge of the system, DCL's policies, etc. When I've talked to Costco Travel about switching over reservations, I see exactly what they do on the DCL availability website.

BTW, remember to book your next cruise onboard to get the discounts and then transfer it within 30 days to your TA to get the max benefits!

Thanks. I'm glad we went ahead and booked because there wasn't a lot left in the exact spot I was looking into. The TA I reached out to for a quote found me a room that sounds great for my needs. And it was a verandah room for only $88 over the category I was looking into. Looks like we could be on a crowded cruise so I'm glad now to have the TA guidance.
So long story short. Staying aft, but closer to midship than all the way back. Starboard side. A floor above kids club because I personally didn't want to stay too high up and I wanted a room close to kid stuff. But not over a theatre. Yay! Signature with countdown officially added.

Sounds like the TA did a good job. Being a floor or so from the kids club is a great benefit. I also enjoy that you have the option of using either the mid or aft elevators depending on where you are going to or coming from.

Don't forget, if you phone DCL, they may (and often do) have other rooms available that aren't showing on the system anywhere. If you use a TA, the TA can call and request those rooms, from DCL, as well.

I booked through Costco and when they called Disney they were able to get us connecting rooms that were not showing online. That said had I called Disney directly they may have got me those rooms too.

Not likely. I tried calling DCL to change rooms to one not showing online, and they wouldn't do it. Since I booked on opening day for platinums, I know exactly what rooms were showing as available. Other rooms that did not show as available have still not been released online. The cruise is in November 2019.

Not always. Sometimes TA's purchase blocks of rooms in advance which would not show on the DCL website. As the price of cabins increase on DCL, some TA's could offer their "blocked" cabins at lower rates. At some point DCL requires TA's to release the unsold cabins back to them. But it could happen that a TA has rooms that DCL does not.
