Do rental car companies, rent by the hour?

Ok, so I switched our flights to come in a day earlier and to Tampa. This is so we can drive a bit north to visit my 94 yr old Memere. Then we will drive to Orlando.

If there is a rental car company that rents by the hour, it may make sense to get a room in Disney for that night before starting our Package Vacation the next day. Otherwise, we will rent a less expensive room, outside and keep the car until the next morning.

So, does anyone know if rental car companies rent by the hour, and which ones?

Usually beyond 3 hours is a full day rental when crossing multiple days, outside of NYC and maybe a handful of other large cities (I don't consider Orlando all that large), that have companies that rent for hourly rates.

Available in Miami. Rate includes gas and insurance. Looks like it's mainly available in large cities, pp is correct. I doubt the rate will be as low as a daily rate available in Orlando. I'll speculate the program is being offered in cities where people generally pay for parking. Return the car after you no longer need it so you don't have to pay to park the car.

The site says the rate is as low as $5 /hour. An article says the rates range from around $6 /hour to around $26 /hour. It's designed to compete with zipcar.
