I know people think we are just crazy because we love Disney so much. The only place we ever go on vacation is Orlando, mainly WDW but we have been to Universal. When we go to Universal, we always sneak in a little Disney magic somehow, whether it's an evening at Downtown Disney or a day at one of Disney's parks. I just don't feel right if I go to Orlando and don't go to WDW. When we do think about going somewhere else, we always just decide "Let's just go to WDW" because that's really where we all want to go anyway. I was just curious how many of you encounter poeple having a negative attitude towards your love of Disney. For instance, my sister gets so mad at me because I buy the kids lots of Disney clothing when we're out shopping. Usually I'll find something cute and say "This would be cute for our trip" and she just thinks I'm off my rocker. I know there are some people out there that think we should go other places and explore different things but we just don't get tired of Disney and we always have the best time when we go. It's nice to know that there are other people out there (like all of you) that love Disney like my family does. As far as people thinking we're nuts, I think they're just jealous that they don't understand the "magic" and I feel bad for them.

I can totally relate. Our family has Disneyland Annual pases and we go about 12 times a year (we live close) We just bought into Disney Vacation Club and will be adding 3 trips to WDW over the next year. Extended family thinks we are nuts, but It is great quality time with the wife and kids 16,3, and 5 months. We just ignore them.

I get that a lot! My friends think I'm crazy. Every time I have another trip planned, I get the rolling of the eyes and the "again?" comment. I guess some people just don't understand. At least a couple weeks out of the year...I get to go to my favorite place and forget about all the stress of the "real world".

Yes, I am a Disney nut. I/ we as a family only get so much vacation a year, and I do want to eventually want to go other places... But, I LOVE Disney. We love the cruise also.

My husband is always talking about doing something else.. we even started to talking about going to Washington DC.. then he says.. he would rather go to Disney.. I have CONVERTED him or BRAINWASHED him... yay :cool1: .

So, yes people think we are nuts.. they roll eyes and everything.. but, they are the ones missing the MAGIC.

I used to buy clothing and other Disney-related items for my best friend's two children. They love all the movies (like Pirates, etc.) and I would NEVER buy them stuff that was "cutsie Disney." About 4 years ago (when the boys were 6 and 3), my best friend said "we don't want any more Disney crap. Its babyish and my boys don't like it." Well, I don't think that's TRUE since everytime the younger one comes to my house, he ALWAYS digs out our Disney toys. But I did stop buying stuff for them. My DS is 10 (will be 11 in January) and he LOVES all things Disney. I still buy him t-shirts and sweatshirts with characters on them. Heck, I'm 37 and I still wear Mickey, Tinker Bell, and Pooh!!!!

MOST of my family thinks I'm completely insane for caring about and loving Disney so much. They don't want to hear about our vacations or see any more pictures from Disney. My mother is the exception because we take her with us everywhere we go and she loves Disney as well. I've just learned to channel my energies and love for Disney here instead of sharing it with my family members. People understand me here!!!

::yes:: People absolutely think I'm nuts! ... but that's before I even start talking about disney :confused3

I scare people with the amount of Disney knowledge I have... people keep saying I should just quit my job and become a disney travel planner :rotfl2:

Oh and why would anyone take a trip to Washington D.C. as a vacation? I live 30 minutes away and avoid it like the plague :lmao: :lmao: I guess sitting in 2 hours of traffic driving the 25 miles to work every morning has gotten me a little jaded.. sorry that was a little OT.. back to your thread :thumbsup2

Bee - I've converted my husband also. I think he loves Disney as much as I do!!

:cheer2: :dance3:

I wouldn't feel too bad for them, nor think they're jealous. Different people like different things. My parents love to spend their vacations searching for orignal art in New Mexico and Arizona. I would find that fun once, but wouldn't do it every year. Should they feel bad for me and think I'm just jealous? Nah.... we just like different things. :)

GUILTY !! My name is keliblue and "I" am addicted to Disney

Yes they do. But who do you think they call when they're planning that once in a lifetime trip to DisneyWorld. The guy who's taken his family every year since his son was 2 and now turning 11.

Yes people think I am crazy. Some of them are right.

People do think I'm crazy because I like Disney so much, but I'm happy with my Disney Thing and I don't worry whether people "get it" or not.

Well, it is a long story, I will try to make it short. In eighth grade I was supposed to go with school. I did reports and studied everything, just so I could go. Room and trip were paid for... Parents decided I should go to catholic highschool, took money for trip, applied to tuition. So, I have never been. Lots of history there, and now I am going to be 40 (OMG) in May and someday I still want to go. LOL

But, then DH said we could maybe go to WDW again and go on 7 day Cruise. Hmmmmmm.. which would I chose DC or DCL??? No brainer  :rotfl:

This one cracked me up! Vacation photos are just one of those things. Most people don't want to see people's photos even if they go someplace different each year - seriously. Never show photos to anyone unless they ask to see them!

Isn't that the truth!!! Everyone shakes their heads :sad2: at dh and I when we say that were going again, but the minute they even get the idea in their head about going our phone rings.

people think I am crazy, but it has nothing to do with my love of disney.

In relation to Disney? No. In relation to me in general? Oh, yeah :teeth: I'm thinking of having "she was nuts" put on my tombstone :rotfl:

yes, they do. Extended family already thinks it and as far as anyone who doesn't already know about our addiction, I just don't tell them about all of the trips we've taken there or about all the trips we have planned.
