Hello:

I do not want to use my credit card to send money for an upcoming trip due to the 2.5% fee they charge. How do other Canadians send money owing to disney?

Deb.

This may be too late to help you this time. I have a BMO US credit card.
No worrying about the extra % they tack on. It still earns airmiles. I also have a US account so when the $ is doing good I transfer into it & pay cc from it.

They'll take cheques and money orders in US $. Mail it to the address on your invoice.:)

We recently got a BMO US card and were told that we couldn't collect airmiles with it......

Is this a new card for you - have you already collected airmiles with it?

Might have to make a phone call............

We got a US BMO Mastercard at the end of December, we too were told that they are no longer offering any rewards programs. It really sucks, since we used this credit card to purchase our DVC - just think of all those airmiles we could have had:sad2:

Oh well, I guess it beats paying the extra fees on our Cdn Card.

No more airmiles? Well that sucks.
I don't believe there is a fee.

I like having it to book car, room, campground on line & not worry about the extra fee. I'm sure they get you somewhere but I try to watch my dimes.

I have a gold US BMO card and pay a fee of around $90 a year to get 1 airmile for every $15 spent. We just got back from Disney 2 weeks ago and racked up a ton of airmiles using the card.

We've paid with a US money order from our bank and sent registered mail.

BMO credit card has an annual fee which if you don't use it often it ends up costing you more then the 2.5% conversaion fee on the credit card.

off the BMO website
Zero liability 1
Extended Warranty & Purchase Protection 2
Acceptance at 30 million locations worldwide
Ideal if you travel to the U.S. frequently, live in the U.S. for more than three months, maintain a U.S. Dollar account or make online purchases from U.S. merchants.

$25 annual fee 4
19.5% interest rate 4

I use my Canadian Tire MC. I collect CT money when I use it.

My US$ MC does not have a fee. I don't remember about the airmiles. (used to get 1 for every $40 or something.) I do have a US$ account that I pay from.

We always send a US money order we get from the bank and then send it from the us postal outlet using their registered mail..but I live on a border town, you can use Canada Post the same way...more expensive..

I had no clue about this - the 2.5%. None! I am very glad you posted. Ths will give me a chance to figure out how to pay ... from these responses!:wizard:

::yes:: That's why the US$ Mastercard. Like someone prior, we buy US$ regularly-actually within my ING account-then transfer to my BMO US$ account when necessary. I subscribe to several US teaching websites, americangreetings.com etc. so the cc comes in handy! and no extra charges :thumbsup2
