Do not buy tickets from Undercover Tourist

My neighbor is having similar problems with UT. She ordered tix about 4-5 weeks ago and they haven't shipped as of last week. She leaves Friday. I'll follow up with her because they did ask when she was leaving. She's used them in the past without a problem.

How soon from now is your trip?

Granted, Undercover Tourist likely either forgot about your order or was out of stock on that kind of ticket and now it appears as if your order is now on short notice.

So they plan to have you pick up the tickets at Disney's ticket booths as will-call thus they do not plan to ship the tickets (?)

This was my thought. The OP is less than 30 days out from their trip. I can see why they would be reluctant to give UT their "exact vacation date" because this solution would be unacceptable for someone needing to make FP+ choices.

Another long-term satisfied customer here. I have used UT exclusively for the past few years, going anywhere from 1 - 2 times a year, with our most recent trip 2 weeks ago, and have never had a problem with them. We always receive our tickets well before the date of our trip.

I think maybe you have had a miscommunication or misunderstanding with them during your phone call.

I would call them again and nicely state your problem and see what they can do for you.

Good luck and enjoy your vacation!

I'm Another satisfied Undercover Tourist customer. I highly recommend them to everyone I can who is looking for a ticket only purchase! I'm so sorry that you have had a bad experience with them. It's very far from the norm! Hopefully you get this resolved. But, honestly, I don't think you will have any trouble getting your FP+ choices! as I just booked a spur of the moment Easter week trip (second busiest time of the year) this past week and just made my FP+ selections tonight. I was able to get every attraction I wanted and at prime time slots. ALL RIDES had many choice times available, and my trip is in 13 days. So, at least that is a positive for you.

Writing is in the wall and I imagine it is getting increasingly difficult for UT to remain valid. Unfortunately, I imagine UT has recently cut back.

We have always ordered from UT and received great service until this year. I ordered tickets for a trip in May and asked for ticket numbers to be emailed like last December so I could book FP+, as we were past our window. I got an email advising that due to security reasons they were not able to do this anymore. They offered alternate shipping options (at my cost). I declined since I didn't want to pay additional shipping.

When I asked what the security problem was, I received an email from someone else at their office saying that they have been extremely busy with the recent ticket price increase and that they would be happy to make an exception and email me my ticket numbers once the tickets were ready to ship, in around 9 days. Once I receive confirmation of shipping, I am supposed to call back. It was a lovely email, but if I could wait 10 days and it was not impacting my FP reservations, I could have waited for the tickets to be sent in the first place. I am at 7 business days today... no tickets, no confirmation of shipping. :confused3

I was honestly expecting the service I'd received in the past, and incredibly fast turnaround on tickets. This surprised me, so I can see why OP might be upset.

2 days left. I will be seriously concerned if they do not arrive in time! Not looking to hijack the thread, but another wrinkle with FP+ that we would not have had to worry about in years gone by. SIGH. :(

I'm wondering if they are overwhelmed since the unannounced price increase. I imagine they were slammed with people wanting to buy the tickets they had at the old prices. Usually there is some sort of warning before prices go up so people could buy from Disney or a discounter before the price increase but this time there was no warning so nobody could buy the old price from Disney so it probably pushed more traffic than usual after a price increase to UT.

I've ordered from them at least four times and had good experiences. I bought two sets of tickets before the June price increase... probably a week or so apart as I decided to buy the extra set for the future after the first set. I don't remember how long the second set came to arrive but I do remember a word of caution on their website about delays due to volume as a result of Disney's price increase (while UT still had old prices).

I imagine it's tough to remain competitive reselling tickets. So why do ppl buy from UCT over DW? I've always wondered. Just looking at their site now...

7-day MYW for $334, save $10.

What's the point? Save $10? You can get $33 off buying them from WDW and using the Target 10%-off gift cards.

I paid $1558 for tix via Disney (7-day MYW) 3A 2C. Same thing via UCT would have run $334.45 x 3 + $269.99 x 2. $1543.33

I paid $1558, less 9.75% thanks to Target, or $1406.10. UCT can't touch this.

Even if no Target discount and paying cash, I'd take a $15 surcharge to buy from Disney ($1558 vs $1543) and not deal w any of this.

Just wondering, as I've never done it. Is there some benefit other than the $10 off? Is there some special elsewhere that you combine to make these worth it?

I've had amazing success with UT and until I see a little more than this I'll stick with them.

I've always wondered that too. I take the ease of buying the tickets through Disney with a package any day over the small savings buying from a broker offers.

If you buy from UT using the Mousesaver's link, you save even more , also the UT price INCLUDES the tax - the WDW ticket price does not.

Depending on how many tickets you are buying and your length of stay, the savings can be significant.

The prices I posted were post-tax actual price charged, not pre-tax prices. So I think it's apples to apples there. I'll look at the micechat thing and see how that works...

Through Mousesavers, the discount is better. The shipping is free (and usually quite fast) and I prefer to go down with tickets in hand and not have to go to will call and line-up to get them at rope drop.

UT adult MYW 7 day including tax = 332.45

WDW adult MYW 7 day including tax =345.06

That's $13 a ticket, for a family of 4 adults about $50 savings. That is worth it for me!

I have to buy 4 tickets, soon to be 5. If I save 20/tkt, that's 80-100 bucks savings :) it all adds up.

We've bought thousands of dollars worth of non-expiring park hopper tickets from UCT over the years through Mousesavers and it saved us well over the 10% Target discount. And way more than $10. :)

And every single time Disney decides to raise their prices on anything to fund MM+ I come out more ahead. Oh, the irony.

We've ordered tickets from UT 2xs First time was fine. 2nd time we had problems. I ordered well in advance & didn't receive the tickets. After numerous phone calls the woman insisted we had the tickets. My husband made a trip the local post office....no tickets. He called again since we were leaving the next day. Finally she agreed to credit our card. We bought tickets at the AAA
last minute. Lo and behold when we got back from vacation the tickets were at the post office. We mailed them back. Somewhere along the line they got lost

I used UT to buy our tickets for our trip to Universal in November. I got them just fine but it took about four weeks. I was just starting to get nervous when they finally arrived! Pleased with both the savings and the service, but was definitely not a ten day turn around!

Just an FYI on target disney gift cards- it's been reported on the budget board that the target pharmacy 5%off coupon no longer applies to disney gift cards, so now the discount is only 5% for using target red card.

Which means I saved even more by going through UCT. Sometimes fuzzy logic is just that. ;) We still have days left from our NE PH tickets that we bought in 2009. I just wish this site would let me quote Dave Chappelle about now.:thumbsup2
