While I understand that in many places on these boards, and in life in general, politics and religion are always hot topics, I do not agree with the decision to lock the thread I had posted about gay marriage. Gay marriage is a political issue and unfortunately it's also a religious issue(because people make it so). This is the LGBT board. Generally if people don't agree with us, they stay out of "our" boards. Although people are always welcomed and we have had people with opposing view points, I have only ever seen well balanced discussions. To not allow us on this board to talk about our right to marry because it falls under the realm of political and religious discussion is taking away one of the core issues that binds many of us together.
How are we supposed to share, hope, and look to the future of the LGBT community rights when we can't even post an article about our progress or discuss our own viewpoints on such an important and fundamental issue to our cause?
I understand it's "the few that ruined it for the many" but I still don't agree, Rather than sit and complain about it to myself, I figured I'd at least make my voice heard.
