Hi everyone. You have been so helpful in the past, that I figured I would ask for input again.

We are going to MK & Epcot next month (Oct 5, 6, 7). We are staying offsite for a conference, so I just did my FP now and not everything was available. It will be myself, my husband, our kids (9,6,3), and my mother.

My recent experiences have all been during the summer with peak crowds and heat, so I am hoping that this is a bit less crazy. Any input you could offer would be great.

Day 1: MK
  • Mine Train as soon as the park opens, and I was going to send my mother and 3 year old to Enchanted Tales with Belle (neither had FP available)... is first thing doable without a crazy wait?
  • Do some rides in Fantasy Land
  • Winnie the Pooh FP 11:00
  • Counter service lunch
  • Head to Tomorrowland and do the Speedway
  • Buzz FP 2:45
  • Space Mountain FP 3:50 (sending my mother and 3 year old to meet Mickey at Towns Square with a FP)
Day 2: Epcot
  • Soarin as soon as the park opens (is this realistic to get on without a long line, first thing?)
  • If we finish this early and there isn't a crazy line for Test Track, I'd like to do that
  • Mission Space FP at 9:55 (sending my mom and daughter to Figment)
  • Turtle Talk FP 10:55
  • World Showcase/ Counter service Lunch
  • Frozen FP 3:00

Day 3: MK (husband not joining)
  • Peter Pan as soon as the park opens (couldn't get a FP)
  • Haunted Mansion FP at 10:55 (my kids may balk.. anything I may want to replace this with?)
  • Pirates FP at 11:50
  • Jungle Cruise FP 12:55
  • Counter service lunch
  • Head back to FantasyLand and hit anything we missed the day before.

Everything seems pretty good! But you could change a few things. ;)

1. I would go to Test Track when the park opens, its always the busiest.

2. You can probably switch the Fastpass for Winnie and Turtle Talk with Crush, those, especially Crush, don’t usually have long lines. Also, I would have your kids see the aquarium at Epcot, I think they would it! And maybe your mom would like Living with the Land? Your kids would probably like Tomorrowland Speedway, and I would try to change a Fastpass to Big Thunder, or just wait in a line! I think your kids should be fine, maybe not the 3 year old, I really don’t know how scared they get. Also, Figment and The Seas with Nemo might be a fun little ride for them!

A few tweaks:

Mine Train at rope drop. To minimize wait, those riding need to be AT the park 45 min before park opens (or close to it) and wait at the rope heading into Fantasyland. You want to be as close to the front of that mass of people as possible and keep pace with them once the rope drops. Grandma and 3 yr old can take a leisurely stroll to Belle.

Speedway will likely have a long wait after lunch. It's a slow loading ride. My guess is at least a 45 min wait, if not longer. A better plan would be to meet up at the Speedway after 7DMT and Belle and then head back into Fantasyland.

Agree with PP about doing TT first and then Soarin'. TT line builds much quicker than Soarin', but what are you doing with 3 yr old during those two?

We tend to see longer waits for Winnie the Pooh, which for us is 30 min plus. Speedway does get backed up a bit and I would recommend using a FP for that, as well. MK is the easiest park to pick up 4th,etc. FPs for. As soon as you scan the third FP go ahead and try to book a 4th using the app. There are usually several options for a 4th one. I haven't been in October, so I can't speak to that directly. I am hearing that it is a more crowded month than it used to be though.

Have a great time! You have a pretty solid plan already!

We just did MK on labor day. We decided not to try for Mine Train at rope drop because we wanted to see the new welcome show. Instead we hit Buzz and then speedway basically as walk ons. We then went over to Fantasyland and did Dumbo and Under the Sea also basically as walk ons (maybe a 5 min wait each). From there we had our FP for Belle but the wait was less than 15 minutes as well. We did not get to do Mine train because the rest of the day was always around 90 min wait but it was 90 minutes right at rope drop too. We were able to get SO much done before 11 am though.

Okay, thanks for the info. We have never done Test Track before... so we will do that and then Soarin.

Good question- last time we switched off adult riders/ waiting with kids... but I think we had fast passes. Any suggestions for how we can do this?

Well, if grandma and 3 yr old aren't going to ride either of these, I see a couple of options. TT has a great exit room with lots of cars and things to do and see. They could wait there for you to finish TT. Then while you ride Soarin', they could ride Living with the Land.

OR just send them over to Nemo and The Seas and let them be entertained by all the fish in the aquarium while the rest of you ride the two big rides.

Day 1. This was my thought too. Speedway is not too far from 7DMT, and then go back to Fantasyland.

Have a great time!
