Do military veterans get discounts or just current members?

My brother is a vet and planning on going down to WDW for his niece's wedding. I told him I would check to see if he can get any room or ticket discounts.
Any help will be appreciated.

According to MWR rules, he must have possession of a military ID card to qualify for benefits (discounts). This would be through retirement, reserves, active duty, etc. Simply serving in the military for a few years and then getting out does not qualify you for discounts. That military ID is your piece of gold.

I want to say that it is just for active duty, not vets. My husband served 8 years in the Navy... I called SOG's & asked....they said only active. Now that was a few years ago, they may have changed. Call & ask CRO since SOG's is closed, they should know. Also mousesavers.com has some info on this, that may help you as well.

The SOG website has a listing of people who qualify under the link for reservation request. Even a DOD employee can get a reservation . The main thing to keep in mind is you have to be currently tied to the military in some way. Anyone with a military ID card automatically qualifies and that would include retired people and reserves. Your husband only served 8 years active duty and that is the reason he does not qualify (unless he received a 100% service related medical discharge). Calling SOG would be the better source of info. The resort is closed, but the reservation # is still working. CRO will not know the answer you are looking for.
