Do males ever wear swim trunks at AKL because of Kali River Rapids?

We will be at WDW in late May/early June when it will be very hot. I was thinking that on our AKL days, the girls would wear board shorts so they would dry quickly if we chose to cool off in Kali River Rapids.

But what do to about the guys? Do guys ever wear swim trunks? I mean, they come down past the knees these days. It would make more sense to me to buy DS an extra pair of trunks (maybe a solid color) that he could later wear at the pool, than to buy him guys' board shorts that he may never wear again. (Plus, the undies would be built in, so they wouldn't take all day to dry.)

What do you think? I don't want us to look ridiculous, but I also hate the feeling of walking around in wet clothes.

Hi!

My Boys (including my hubby :goodvibes ) wear swim trunk to most of the parks. It's comfortable for them and they dry quickly.

My DH and DSs wear swim trunks pretty much the whole time we are in Orlando. It works out well in the parks in case you get wet on a ride. It also means one less trip to the room if we want to go to the pool on our way back from something else. And, the built in underwear netting means less to pack! My DD wears a bathing suit with a tshirt dress over it most of the time. :sunny:

As long as you mean TRUNKS, you should be fine. Had an unpleasant visual last summer of some Europeans walking around in swim briefs, ala Speedo. :sad2: Just much more than I ever wanted to see! :rotfl2:

My son (15) wears trunks and a cool max shirt because they dry so quickly. My husband wear trunks and a cotton t-shirt and complains for hours about being wet.

Both my sons walk around in their swimming trunks at Disney, the first couple days last time I tried the regular short and they took so long to dry and they were uncomfortable, so the rest of the trip I let them wear their Disney swim trunks with a tank top and didn't hear any more complaints from them.

Yes...trunks....not Speedos!

We went to Paris last spring and I did some reading on the use of the local swimming pool. Do you know that lots of the public pools REQUIRE the Speedo type suits and EXPRESSLY PROHIBIT trunks???!!!! :earseek: I guess you think whatever your culture does is "normal"... but can you imagine being an overweight 75 year old man who is required to wear a speedo? I'd love to hear the rationale for prohibiting trunks in public pools. Any Europeans out there?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:  gotta love the cultures of the world! :teeth:

My poor hubby last time got so wet he had to go buy swim trunks, we was getting so chaffed and uncomfortable. I would recommend they wear the trunks and they'll dry faster and be more comfy! :Pinkbounc

They also make for men, swim trunks that are a solid khaki color that look just like regular khaki cargo shorts, but are made of the quick drying material. My bf got some at Old Navy, but I've seen them at Kohl's too. He just didn't want to walk around all day with swim trunks in some crazy neon print, and khaki matches more shirts.
