Do I need a mug for coffee? Can I?

Sorry about these basic questions.....but, do we need our own mug to carry to the drink station get the coffee/juice/water they have?

If we don't need one, can we bring our own anyway? I'm thinking of bringing our drink mugs from Disneyworld resorts to use onboard.

Is it a self service station (like in the food courts)? I read it is open 24 hours a day...

They have cups there, they are about the 6-8 oz size. As for it being open 24 hrs, I am not 100% positive since it was last summer I cruised. One of the more recent cruisers will have to answer that one.

When we cruised at the end of October, the drinks station closed at about 11pm and re-opened at 6.30am.

I think bringing along the Disney World mugs is an excellent idea - prevents the sloshing when transporting hot/cold beverages to your location of choice and is much better for the environment, of course. We'll be doing the same.

If you purchase the soda/mug/sticker package you can use the Magic mug for this purpose too. Personally we do not drink enough soda to justify the $38 expense, but the mug makes a nice souveneir. Maybe bringing ones from home makes better sense.

I found the same thing in Nov. as KEH - 6:30AM to 11PM. Not open 24 hours. You can call room service during the night if you needed something, I would think.

It is a good idea to bring you own for convenience (though they do have cups with lids at the beverage station), but, they may not let you put your mug up against any dispensers due to virus protection.

On our last cruise you had to fill one of the disposable mugs and then pour that into your own mug. So much for the enviroment as you are using a disposable anyway.

Maybe things have changed since Sept. when I was on the Wonder.

Well, I've not been on the Wonder since last February so it may have changed since then but the Drinks Station used to be 24 hours there - it was just the Magic that closed theirs at 11pm.

I've noticed in recent Navigators that the Cove Cafe sells a Cove Cafe coffee mug for $9.99. They will "keep it hot" for that price.

Yes, they do. We brought one home for my 90yo grandmother who enjoys keeping her drinks in that type of mug as it has a cover and doesn't spill easily. They are exactly like the refillable mugs at the Disney resorts (the fatter ones...not the ones that would fit in an auto cup holder) but have the DCL logo. I believe they were about $6.00.

Tell me more!!! Is this a refillable mug, or just a nice ceramic mug?

The plastic mugs are sold in Mickey's Mates for $4.50 each, same size as what you get when you buy the soda package for $35!! We filled ours up at the drink station on deck 9 with all the lemonade and iced tea and hot tea we wanted to all week for free, it's open 6:30 a.m. to 11pm. Never gave the Norwalk a thought..... of course the portion of the cover where you drink from was never in contact with the drink spouts. And I always washed ours out in our cabin.

You can bring your own if you'd like, but you can buy the mugs like we did and you have another souvenier!

I didn't go into the cove, so I'm not familiar with the mug they sold in there...sorry.

We always bring two of those coffee mugs with the spillproof tops. Then I get up early, and go up to the buffet and get coffee for my wife, who is still in bed. You can get more coffe than those little cups, and I don't spill it as I juggle two drinks and a plate of food back to my room.
