taking Sebastian to school this morning?" asks my husband. :furious: NO! You are his father and I am sick. I shouldn't have even had to ask you to take him for me. You should have volunteered. What is it with men? :confused3

I hear you--why do you have to ask them to do things they should just KNOW needs to be done. I am trying to train our boys better then that but I think it is genetic, but then again, if you read the SAHM duties page, a lot of women don't expect their DH's to help out either.

I just posted something similar on the "babysitting" discussion: why is it that when they do something that they should do as a parent/part of the family...something just expected from us moms...it is a huge favor to us moms and we are supposed to THANK THEM for doing what is necessary or expected???? And that they can't just see or know that something obviously needs to be done?

My DH doesn't seem to be quite as bad as some...but there are still moments!!!

You know, I forgot about those other two threads. :rotfl: I probably should have posted this on one of them. Oops. :teeth:

It's not all men. :) I take my son to school all the time, although I'm normally the pick-up parent, there's days when DW has to get to work early. :)

I agree - we (I) should say "some" men - I know many men who gladly do whatever and gladly spend as much time with their kids as possible!!!! :thumbsup2

DH is mostly in this category...but sometimes regresses or something - and , like I said, has his moments!!!! :sunny:

My DH goes through periods when he is more than happy to do stuff without being asked or thanked, and periods when it is like pulling teeth.

Hannah lost a filling on Friday, so she needs to go to the dentist soon. I asked DH if he could take her, since I will be out of town almost all this week. He flipped out on me, complaining about how much work he had to do, etc. Whatever.

This morning I heard him vacuuming downstairs. When I called him today to tell him I scheduled an appointment for Hannah today, he was more than happy to take her.

I wonder if he has my PMS.

Wow - it must be so insulting to have your husband make a comment like that about brownie points. I would have had some choice words for him too.

Oh Bob, I know it's not all men. But definitely some. It's hard asking for "favors" like this when I'm a SAHM mom. Because these things are my "job". But sometimes I need a sick day or heck even a "sick 10 minutes" to take the kid to school. He's home "sick" today too even though he's feeling better. I made him take a sick day from work because we started an antibiotic yesterday.

You know, any other day I would have but since I feel like crap I just let it go. If I said anything he would get all pissy and sit and stew in the basement all day. And I don't feel like taking care of two toddlers today.

I would have sneezed on him!
