Do Disney Employees get a discount?

I was wondering if employess get a break on rooms for relatives visiting from out of state.
If they do, does anyone know the percentage off the regular rack rates?

Yes, employees get a great rate. Usually its around 40%, give or take.

It also depends. WDW room discounts for friends/family are for FL CMs.
I had some friends visiting here and their DL CM son could not book a room for them unless he stayed with them.

I recieved a CM discount in 2005 and I was able to make the reservation myself. I just needed the CM's employee number. They didn't have to stay with us. We booked two rooms.

Sorry, that was then, this is now. Things are much different now. My CM friends books friends and family often. They are allowed to book 5 reservations a year for F&F (unlimited if they are staying in the room). The discount starts at 40% off for F&F and then drops to 25% off when the 40% rooms are depleted. They are subjected to availability also. The CM has to make the arrangements and has to precheckin with their ID either in person or by fax before the F&F checks in, or meets them there.

Besides rooms discounts, to you know if they get like coupons or vouchers to pass along to families, for example maybe $5.00 off souviners, or dining. Rooms discounts seem like alot to get, I was thinking along smaller lines.

They can get the dining discount only if they are dining with you.

We were just down there when my sister was a CM and there was a small discount shopping but she had to pay if we wanted to get it but I actually got the same rate (maybe a little less) with my Disney Visa

Sometimes there are promotions for cirque or water parks, etc. However the CM has to be with the guest and buy tickets/admission for themseleves and the guests. And often that is limited to a set number of guests per group too.

They do also get a discount on merchandise, unless that's changed in the last year or so. At Christmas it goes to 40% - I believe, but the CM has to be with you at the time. I'm not sure if this is applicable to all CM's but this is true for my cousin who is rather high up. I don't take advantage of it as much as I'd like because he's so busy all the time and I feel guilty to take him away just so I can save some bucks!

Just an FYI...castmembers aren't allowed to discuss their discounts ( except of course w/in their own family ) and can be terminated if they use their merchandise discount for others.---Kathy

In 1996 when I was a CM, I got a Contemporary Garden room for $66! It also helped that my roommate worked front desk...now those were the days!

Does this apply to those on the Cultural Exchange as well? My daughter leaves from here in Canada on Tuesday to work at Epcot for a year!!
