Just curious...all the disney pins, specials etc. state based on Double Adult Occupancy. What if it's just me and my 6 yr old daughter? I received a free dining pin, but thinking about just doing the cheaper rooms and adding dining. Still not sure if it will work.
Anyone else ever book with 1 adult?

I have had a room where it was just me and the kids (before my daughter was considered an adult) and it was just fine.

You can absolutely book with 1 adult! Disney just creates those mock up vacations to show you how inexpensive it could be.
Go ahead and call to get a price quote for your trip!

I go by myself more frequently than not (sadly - DH is over Disney).
The room is a flat rate and then it is per person charge for dining and tickets.

OK, here's the issue.

Room only reservation special offers and pins are usually a percentage off of rack rate. The rack rate applies for the first one or two adults in the room, and then there is an extra adult fee if there is a third or fourth adult in the room. So on a room only, you get the same deal if there is one adult or two adults. This is what I book because I typically go solo. Unless you are an annual passholder, you can not add dining to a room only reservation.

If you are wanting the dining plan, then you are looking at packages. Package deals are typically advertised with a per person price, based on two adults, one child between 10-18, and one child under 9. So if you only have one adult and one child, your per person price will differ from the price shown, due to buying fewer tickets and having fewer people to divide the base room rate. The best thing to do if you are looking at package deals is play around with the website - enter your information and see what rates come up.

I think it's a good idea to run the numbers on every special offer, to see which one really has the best rates for your family. Every family is different and what may work out as the best deal for me might not be the best deal for you.

Just to correct this...You CAN use a Room Only discount and turn it into a package with tickets and/or dining plan while keeping the discount on the room portion.

It IS always a good idea to do the math on various offers to see which works best for you!
