Do any of the resort restaurants allow you to bring in a cake from an outside vendor?

I'm thinking of ordering a small (20 people or less) cake from Publix.

What about the Swan/Dolphin? Do they allow outside cakes in their restaurants or ceremony site?

Thanks!:goodvibes

Health codes in most areas prohibit outside food being brought into a restaurant. You might want to call the Swan or Dolphin and ask before you bring a cake in.

That's what I am afraid of :(
I wonder if they allow it in the S/D ceremony site...

Unfortunately the answer is no :( I wanted to have a close firend make out wedding cake and our planner said that food not prepared by disney can not be served on disney property.

I think for weddings the answer is no...

However, I made Lisa (Goldeloxx9) a "groom's cake" for their rehearsal dinner at Ohana's and they let her bring it in (she called ahead of time to ask) but they told her they couldn't serve it so they'd have to cut it themselves and pass it out, which was no big deal.

Here's the cake I made them (I live in Orlando so I was able to bring it there):

Darn:sad1: Is this true for Swan/Dolphin restaurants & ceremony sites as well? I'm thinking the rules might be different because they are not technically Disney....

What a gorgeous cake!!! :goodvibes You did a really great job!! We wouldn't mind traveling it over & cutting it ourselves...

We had absolutely NO problem bringing an anniversary cake into Portobello Yacht Club in August.

Its funny; I contacted the restaurant first to ask if I could order one through Disney, and they said no...all they had were small 6" square 'celebration' cakes at the restaurant and they were not hooked up with the Disney bakery. They assured me, though, that I could bring one in as long as it required no refrigeration as they would not provide storage space.

At first, I wanted to order one from Disney and have it delivered there, or I'd pick it up and carry it in. I was told to contact the bakery on site to make the arrangements. I spent an hour at the GF trying to get this arranged and long story short, Disney wouldn't sell me a cake. I laughed, because here I was...willing to spend anywhere from $50-100 to get a nice Disney cake for my party of 15...and they wouldn't sell it to me because we were going to take it to Portobello.

So we went to Publix. They had a perfect (and DELICIOUS) cake, and even decorated it on the spot for me with 50th Anniversary decorations. $15.

The manager at Portobello was awesome. They took the cake from us when we arrived, and served it beautifully at the end of the meal...the staff came and sang Happy Anniversary to my parents, and then provided us with plates and a cake cutter for serving.

I have seen many girls here bring cakes to O'Hanas when they had their rehearsal dinners.
