Help! We'd like to take DME to the Beach Club to eat a Character Breakfast after our red eye. We are staying at AKV, Kidani and have signed up for DME.

Will we be able to hop on the DME bus to the beach club to eat at Cape May Cafe, or must we first get on the AKV bus to check in....? 1st timers...need help, thanks! :goodvibes

You have to go to your own resort if you use DME but you do not have to check in right away, for example need to grab a taxi and hustle over to where you are having breakfast or lunch.

Unless you are using the dining plan for your breakfast. You have to checkin at the resort to get access to that.

Really? You don't think they would allow the OP to ME to BCV? On our many trips utilizing the ME I do not recall the CM checking the douments for conformation of which resort we were staying at prior to boarding the bus.

I do recall receiving a magic express stamp and then being verbally asked where we going....(from a different CM than the one who checked us in)

It is not allowed. Period. They know where you're supposed to go when they scan your vouchers.

Yep, really ;). It's not even that we 'don't think' it would be allowed. We know it won't be. Your DME voucher, like your luggage tags, contains resort-specific information, and it does get scanned at least once during the Welcome-to-boarding process.

Your DME voucher states where you are going...when you get into the bus line, they doublecheck that voucher and send you to the appropriate bus line for your resort. When you get to the bus, the driver checks the voucher to be doubly sure.
I have always been doublechecked when getting on the DME bus..and I've used it many times.

Too many people wish to mold DME into a system that works for their special needs...be it upon arrival or at departure. Many people want to go directly to a park, or another resort rather than their own resort upon arrival. And, on departure day, there are many people who would like to hop on the DME from other resorts that are closer to the park they are in, rather than head back to their own resort.
DME is set up to take you to the resort you are registered at upon arrival, and to pick you up at the resort you are registered at on your departure day....period.
If you wish another type of service then a car service or rental car may be a better choice for your family.

When you get to AKL, you can just hop on the bus to DHS..then either walk or boat over to the YC/BC area..should take about 45 mins.
