DME tag question / suggestion.

OK.. so I added my sister onto a reservation a couple of weeks ago, havent seen any tags for her, havent gotten her DME boarding pass. I've go it that she can still head to the DME counter give her name / reservation number and take the bus. I also get that she can just give her claim tags and they'll pull her bags.. But here's my question..

I'm thinking about sending her 2 of my tags, put a line thru my name and put her name on it. Has anyone ever taken one of the yellow tags and cut them in 1/2 and used them as 2 tags? I understand if you use one strip it will have the bar code on both sides, and if you use 1/2 the bar code may be hidden.

Think there would be any issues doing that? Also on the DME book if we have 5 people on the DME reservation, there are 5 bar codes, are those bar codes identical and just good for "x" scans or are they actually different codes for EACH person on that reservation?

I 'believe' that each bar code is the same..it is just the resort reservation with the lead person's name. It isn't guest specific..at least I don't think it is.
Some have cut those tags in half and been able to double them....so I suppose you can give it a try as well. You shouldn't need to cross anything off though..just leave it be.
I would call DME just to be absolutely sure she is listed on your reservation though.

I will call again, but I'm pretty sure when I called to order extra tags for the rest of us, they listed her.

Yep, did add her and she's on there They looked, and there is a good chance I'll get them today, so can still get them to her, but always nice to have a back up plan.

We added a fourth friend a few years ago; that was back when they sent you two tags per person.

They told me to scratch out my name, without interferring with the bar code, and write her name in indelible marker.

Back then, everyone had to check in at the Counter, but only one person per family had to physically go up there. I opted, since they were my guests.

They asked me how many bags I had; I said 4, one per person. The CM looked in the computer, and said, ah here we go, bag no. 1, bag no. 2, bag no. 3, and oh, bag no. 4 with a name written in sharpie marker. Got it!
