I am sure this has been asked but I could not find it. If we booked DME from the airport to BCV and put the tags on the luggage but then took a car to the resort would our luggage still get picked up a delivered? My sister is joining us and may have a car and we may not need the bus but it would be great to have them handle the bags.
Second question is we arrive at 7:30 pm. How long does it usually take for bags to get to the hotel?

Thanks for any help
Judy

How did you miss the stickied thread? All your questions should be answered there.
As far as luggage delivery goes, you can expect delivery of your bags up to three hours after resort checkin. So probably around 11.
If it were me, I wouldn't tag the bags, and then get them myself at baggage claim. I don't want to be waiting that late for bags to arrive in order to get settled in.

Because nobody ever reads the sticky threads. Or notices that they are there.

ETA: I think it's because most of the people here aren't terribly experienced with message boards in general, so they aren't necessarily familiar with the format. It's hard to know to look for a sticky when you don't even realize that they exist or what their purpose is.

I'm avoiding the land mine of can you tag your bags and not take the bus, but will answer the How Long question. DME aims to have your luggage in your room 3-4 hours of you checking in at the resort.

Probably true. And we have sooooo many. But, I'm hesitant to delete any.....simply because people ask for a specific thread to be stickied!!

Nope, no land mines. I would much rather see guests tag their bags and then not ride the bus vs not tagging them and bringing them to the bus!! That really slows down the whole DME process!!!
As long as people understand what 'could' happen if they tag and then don't ride the bus, it's fine. I just don't want anyone ever coming back and saying...'Hey, why didn't anyone tell me that my bags might get misplaced and I won't know about it?'. With DME CMs no longer asking how many bags you've checked, I'm just not sure how they are discerning what bags go with those on the bus!! They don't seem to be tracking the bags the way they used to...so who knows.

Oh, definitely don't delete them. They're incredibly helpful for people who do know to look for them. And having them stickied makes it easier to find them when I need to refer someone to them.
