It is so hard to get in from the West Coast at an early hour, (want to get checked in :thumbsup2 ) we are thinking of flying in the night before and staying at the airport Hyatt - then meeting my sis for her next am arrival and taking DME together. Has anyone tried this? Would they take our bags for us early? Would we stay with only our carry on, or pick up our own luggage and check it at the bus? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 Thanks!

I can't answer you on DME but did want to comment on the Hyatt.

We are on the west coast too. Our last trip American cancelled our flight and we did not find out until we got to the airport to check in. We were not flying out until the next morning so we stayed at the Hyatt in the Orlando airport.

That Hyatt is GREAT! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

The rooms were nicely appointed, the staff was incredible and the pool on the roof was too much fun for the kids. it was not noisy at all in the rooms (one of my big fears).

The best though was the next morning. The bellman came to our room, loaded up all the luggage, took us down to the American counter, stayed with us through check in and then hauled everything over to the security scanners. It was great not to have to run around like crazy people trying to get out of our room in time to get to the airport and then not having to deal with juggling bags and small children.

After that experience we have decided that from now on our last night in Orlando we are always going to stay at the aiport Hyatt. We were SO relaxed the morning we flew out - it made having to leave Orlando :sad1: a bit more bearable :rotfl:

Flying into Orlando we do red eye flights out of San Francisco and arrive in the morning. But I can see if you were arriving really late wanting to do this. If DME will pick ya up the next morning do it! Oh, and make sure to go for a swim on the roof! :teeth:

Yes, you should have no problem doing that - but to be safe I would retrieve your bags when you arrive rather than have them in the DME system a day earlier than your Disney reservation. Since you will be staying at the Hyatt it should be fairly simple to do that. Just don't put the yellow tags on your checked bags.

You will be fine to use DME from the Hyatt when your family arrives. If you are using one of the participating airlines your resort will check your bags for the return trip home.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the advice, Doc. Jemiaule, We stayed at the Hyatt once, too, when we went on our Disney cruise. It was really nice not to be schlepping back and forth from the aiport to the hotel and back to catch the shuttle to the ship :sunny: We may find ourselves on a redeye after all - I can't find those seats again. If I see that itinerary again, I will grab it fast! pirate:
