DLR is closing early today (1/18/10)

SUN is SHINING bright in Newport Beach!!! I am SHOCKED and THRILLED!!! :sunny:

Not sure how long it will last BUT I LOVE IT!!! :goodvibes

We had tornado warnings here too? LOL Wow, I didn't even realize that......LOL

LMAO!!!! Too funny....I bet we saw each other and didn't know it! LOL I bet you know my DBF, he was a regular there around this time frame. How funny, what a small world it is......DBF and I met at the Grad, my BFF met her DH there too. We still go to the Grad on country nights sometimes....LOL

How funny! I miss the country nights. My DH and I actually met at the quad on campus, but I saw a few relationships start on the dance floor at the Grad. Stay dry everyone!

Yes, I just noticed that Lorealle had posted about this on Facebook! Well, the rain is not over yet - it is raining in L.A. right now, though it is not yet the downpour that it was a couple of hours ago. Still, there is so much water to deal with in DLR, so I can see where they would want to close a bit early to try to clean up.

There have already been two tornados in SoCal today, and there is currently another tornado warning for another area of SoCal.

My BFF went there that same time...we went to the Grad when I would visit!!! Driving up to see her was always a PAIN in the rain! Have you been back to Davis, it is NUTS! Soo grown up/out!

I made a brief stop in Davis two years ago on a trip to SF and it is so much bigger. I had already heard about Murder Burger having to change its name, so stupid! Housing was much more affordable back then too.

Anyway, the storm from socal is headed towards our mountains, but we shouldn't see much snow here in the Denver area. As long as the snow stays up there, we could really use the water!

Here's another one of the rain that shows people slogging through.

Oh wow! It's great to see these pictures of what the rain is actually doing IN Disneyland. We usually don't get such vivid examples of the effects of heavy rain there. Did you take this photo, Mary Jo, or did you find this one somewhere else online?

This came from an article that also had the duck picture. Crazy, huh. There is another one that shows the train station reflected off a wet ground. I'll try & find it again.

Ok too funny that so many of us know Davis so well. :) And yes, we still call it Murder Burger! LOL :thumbsup2 Love the teriyaki burger!! YUM!!

That is insane.......

They could relocate the Canoes whilst ROA is drained!

That's what a friend and I were saying! LOL :)

Today was my FIRST day at my new job as a trainer at the San Diego Zoo (RAVE!) BUT, I wanted to say that the total attendance for the day was 348 guests, and honestly, I'm quite surprised there were that many because I sure didn't see them! I heard a rumor among the other trainers that Sea World was closed today, but can't confirm.

Thank you for sharing the pictures. Even damp, and some what elevated water levels, of and at Disneyland, look beautiful.

Did'ja hear!???? Tornado warnings in La Paz!!!! I'm STUNNED! Our palm trees are sideways right now...

Yes, I've been keeping an eye on the weather today. The amount of rain you guys are getting in the valley is WILD! We are getting rain right now that is supposed to turn back to snow around midnight. Unfortunately, that is not soon enough for Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona. They have raised the crest levels again to be near the 1993 flood. We will eventually dig out, but you can't outrun the floods and tornadoes. Stay safe down there!

We didn't take the kids to karate tonight, DH joked, "It's like Vietnam out there!" Kidding aside...I think he's right. :rolleyes1We live pretty close to a fire station & I've heard it like 4 times already.

I spent my childhood summers in Oak Creek Canyon - we had a cabin there, eons ago. I hope they post some pics when they can.

Just past 6:30 p.m. here in L.A. on Thursday night, and the rain is - out of nowhere - coming down with a FURY! I am not even looking out the window but the sound of the rain hitting the window makes it seem as though it is blowing horizontally! It was almost as if someone turned a fan right on my window to direct the rain right at it. Supposedly there is some thunder coming with it soon, but I have not heard that yet. If there is thunder, it is very distant. I do hear wind, though.

So this is what Orange County has to look forward to in the next hour or two!! Buckets and buckets!

Sherry, thanks for letting us know about the impending rain...we've had a break from the rain for a bit this afternoon. We are currently staying at GCH and are planning to stay indoors this evening ( the kids love storytime!).

We've been here since Saturday and although its been raining on and off since Monday, we've been having a really great time. We've been finding that that the mornings are usually dry and the rain doesn't really start pouring till noon...so we've been making the most of it and trying to get as many rides in as possible.

And its quite cute to see all the ducks on the path ways!

We are planning to head to Legoland tomorrow so hope the weather clears up for tomorrow.

Ooooh - here comes the thunder. And I am sitting right next to the window - not good when there is lightning! All this fun is heading right to Orange County!!
