DLP's Paris Essentials or Paris Discovery - worth it?

Hi All,

Just wondered whether either of the above add-ons represent good value?

I've not looked into this in any detail, but thinking of a day in Paris and the main things we'd probably like to see are the Tower and the Louvre.

I notice Essentials is a bus from DLP - handy, but how long does it take in comparison to the train?
Discovery sounds like you get train passes, cruise and Louvre entry - any good, or cheaper to purchase separately once you're there? Are the trains easy enough to navigate?

I don't know the price of the 2 tours so I can't compare but I can give you the prices of each thing

A Mobilis ticket which gives you unlimited travel on the RER-Metro-Bus (zones 1-5) from start to end of service for a day costs 14,20€

A river cruise with Bateau Mouches (the oldest and imo the best) is 11€50 for adults

A ticket to the Louvre is 10€ (if you are under 25 and in the EU it's free)

The RER will take you to Chatelet in 40-45 minutes. The ET is about an hour with one change onto the metro at Charles de Gaulle- Etoile. The bus will be longer to start with and is of course subjet to delays on the roads which are frequent

You get the RER at the station at DLP and it's very easy to navigate and safe

Thanks for this info. We haven't added either when booking, so I'd have to see whether we can actually add on at a later date, or even when we're there anyway, but good to see the standard prices
