DLP just for one evening in April?

Hello everyone. We will be travelling from Tampa, FL to London for 4 nights and then we are taking the Eurostar to Paris for 4 nights.

We will not be too far from Gar du Nord train station where we are staying (near Opera House).

Can anyone advise me as to whether they think a train ride to DLP around 4pm would be reasonable, with plans to spend the evening and have dinner in the park and then return to Paris that night?

We are in Paris April 13-17. Anyone know park hours at that time of year, and approx cost of roundtrip tickets on train?

Hi and welcome to DLP DIS board Nickglover
We are a friendly bunch here so if you have a number of questions just start a new thread for each and I'm sure everyone will jump in.

Paris is about 1 1/2 hrs away from DLP by train. So you would get there around 5.30pm if you are lucky with the timetable.
Park hours at this time of year are 10.00am - 8.00pm so you would not have much time in the park.
If you decide to do this I'd aim to have dinner in the Village or in one of the nearby resort hotels, thereby maximising your time, unless you are keen to go to a specific restaurant in the park
Hopefully someone else can help with cost of train fare.

the disney main site states train time on RER from Paris is about 30-40 minutes, but I expect it would take longer with the walking on each end, as well

I am hoping park hours might be longer in mid-April but they are apparently not posted yet

looks like one day/one park tickets for two will total around $100, which beats Orlando

however, with only 4 nights and three full sightseeing days in Paris, an evening at DLP is looking less realistic, at least for this trip

Disneyland park closes at 8pm, it doesn't stay open till 11pm until the 3rd week in July.

Disney Village will of course be open after the park has closed but that's not quite the same as the main park.

Is there any chance you could catch an earlier train to give yourself a bit more time in the the park?

You can catch the RER which rides like every 10 or 15 minutes. The trip takes you about 20-30 minutes and drops you off ride next to the park entrance. Did you know that the Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast ride opens April 8?

It sounds like we are planning almost the same trip. My family (DH, DD7) and I will be heading to London for 5 nights, taking the Eurostar and then staying in Paris for 5 nights. We arrive in Paris on 10 April (the Monday before Easter.) I've been kicking around the idea of spending one of our Paris days in DLP.

I've been wondering if the crowds in DLP at this time of year are as bad as they are in WDW. I saw from the School Holidays post that the French schools have off for two weeks around Easter. Are any days better than others -- e.g. would it make sense to go Good Friday?

I am a firm believer in going to WDW in October or May, but couldn't swing that for the Europe trip. I'd like to go to DLP (still kicking myself for skipping Tokyo when DD was only 3), but I do not want to 'waste' a precious day in France standing in lines.

Any advice?

Best way to reduce this is by going during the week. When we visited the Effel tower we were in a queue all day!!

yeah, Laurie, similar trip! we are starting to get excited - all I know is Easter Monday is a national holiday in England and France

we are reading rick steves' books now on london and on paris

I am leaning towards spending the time in paris, and maybe doing dlp on another trip to paris when we can spend a little more time

My DH and I always go in May and the Sept/Oct to WDW because of crowds too!!

It is funny you mention "'wasting' a precious day in France standing in lines." - I will be visiting my nephew in Crete in May, but have purposely scheduled a layover in Paris on the way home just to visit DLP (not the Effel Tower, not the museums, not any of the other "must see" items in Paris - nope, just DLP for a single day!!!!). Unfortunately, that day is turning out to be a Sunday. AH well. I'll just walk the park if I can't do anything else!

All depends on what your goals are!
One of these days I am actually going to spend a vacation in Paris...but not this time!

Hi Laurie514 and welcome to DLP DIS board
As this is around school holiday time expect the park to be busy, but you can beat the crowds
If you aim to be at the park for opening time and can pick a midweek rather than a weekend day then crowds will not start to fill till after 11.00am

Even in August in the height of summer we have managed to do 7 rides by 11.00am going at park opening
