Thought I had it all figured out :rotfl: Guess not ;)

After looking at the latest DLH contsruction photos, coupled with the under construction amenities list, I am not sure that I can handle the level of construction that is happening at the DLH. Our preferred premium view might be of a construction zone!

I am considering a switch to GC.

I like the idea of a theme park view room, but I am thinking we would primarily see construction?

Would we be better choosing a DTD view room, even though some can require quite a walk to enter/exit the hotel or go with a standard view room?

Any suggestions for room requests with either view?

Or is there someone out there who has recently stayed at the DLH and can calm my fears?

Thanks :flower3:

We stayed at DLH this summer in a refurb room, we loved it. There was major construction going on in the tower next to ours and at the bottom of our tower, but we never heard any noise! It was not a big deal for us at all, we could not enter through one of the doors to the hotel tower, but the other door was very close to us too.

If you do switch to GC and get a theme park view, you shouldn't even see any construction at all. We have had this view and it was amazing! The DTD view rooms are also fun, we were able to see the fireworks from our balcony. Good luck and enjoy the vacation!

DLH is great if you can get a DTD view. Ok otherwise. I'll try to remember to takeabd post our pool view tonight or tomorrow to help you decide.

Ok, this is the room we got for reserving a "preferred premium". I do tend to call or write and complain. For a deluxe view I would think this is acceptable, but when you're paying top tier, no. My in-laws room is on the other side with a dtd view and the view is awesome. We're on the 6th floor dreams tower.

We prefer the DTD view at the GCH. It has been a few years since we stayed at the DLH and was not impressed with the walk or the actual room. The DLH is a very popular place to stay but with all the construction it may be a little unsettling.

We've stayed at both DLH and GC many times. Without a doubt, I like GC better. Not only is it a new/nicer hotel, but the location is just way more convenient for us with small kids. Regarding the room, last time we were there we had a park view, but were on the 3rd floor and the view was mostly obstructed with trees. It was fine though.

this isnt what you looking for but

go to hojo get there view room see fireworks see lots stuff hvae nice pool area save money for stuff in the park sorry i know im bad but with all the construction going on we wouldnt stay onsite even if we had money not yet

We've stayed at both a few times, though not recently. We really like both and had trouble picking between the two to where we did a split stay between them the last time.

DLH has larger rooms and had more Disney (character) theming in the rooms and around the resort. DLH is a longer walk - GC sitting on DCA is kind of unfair to compare anything else to. But DLH isn't really that bad of a walk - maybe 10 minutes through DTD to the parks (and we like the DTD area).

We're staying at VGC in March though as we bought DVC VGC when they started selling it.

Your photo made the decision for us!

Hope the other parts of your trip have been magical :wizard:

If the monorail rail is running, it is a quick ride to Disneyland. Just hop on the monorail and get off in tomorrowland.

It's actually proven to be faster to walk to the park than to take the monorail.
However, if your feet are tired the monorail is a nice backup! ;)
