DLH Suite question

Wondering .... are the DLH suites automatically concierge level? I thought they were but just read a post where someone "upgraded" their suite to concierge? if anyone has any info that would be cool cause I am dreading the though of standing in a line 10-15 deep :flower:
 
DH and I had the same question when we booked our suite at DLH. He had read somewhere that they are all concierge, but then read something else that they were not. We posted here (a couple months back) and found that suites are not automatically concierge. If you didn't specifically get a concierge suite, you don't have concierge privileges.

The Disneyland Hotel Suite Reservation Confirmation that I received in the mail today may help answer your question.

"Suite reservations do not include concierge services. If concierge services have been added to your reservation, an additional per night fee will be added to your account daily as set forth below. (This fee is not included in the room rate noted on this Confirmation.)

$100 per night + 15% tax at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel
$125 per night + 15% tax at Disneyland Hotel
$150 per night + 15% tax at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel

All information listed above is subject to change."

It is also a "new" policy that travel agents, including WDTC and AAA, may no longer add concierge services to suite reservations at any of the three resort hotels. A guest my only "request" that concierge be added to a "travel agent made" suite reservation at the time of check-in (via the regular check-in line at the Front Desk, not the concierge line) and the addition is strictly based on concierge availability. However, concierge may be added to a suite (and guaranteed) if you book a stay at any of the hotels "directly" via the Disneyland Resort Reservations Office.

The only explanation given thus far for this policy change, to myself, my AAA travel agent, and WDTC, via Disney, is that the Disneyland Resort Hotels would like to have more "control" of their concierge level suite reservations.

As a returning Concierge Level Suite Guest, my reply to that vague explanation is....."Who we talkin' about?!?!"
 
Not sure about the DLH, but at the GC it is not automatic. My guess would be that it's automatic for the presidential type suites, but not the regular ones.

We have a regular 3br suite booked for August at the GC, and added concierge for $150/night.
I feel that's a great price seeing as though it includes eveyone in the suite (sleeps 13 or 14).
We have six adults, so the that comes to about $25/person/day. Breakfast, two evening drinks, and we've broke even.

Of course, it may be totally different at DLH :drinking:

Thanks gang for all your answers and feedback. I am in pickle then. I choose to stay onsite for many reasons and thought I had chosen concierge level through via my AAA rep. But the main reason I chose onsite was that I have 2 herniated/ruptured disks that make it soo bad to walk/stand for more than 20-30 minutes at a time. Although I am still fairly young ( ;) 31) I don't deal well with lines. So I thought enhanced pass and concierge (for check in ) was perfect.
So if I stay with AAA I don't get concierge guaranteed the day of check in
If I change ressie to central res- I lose:
1.AAA deposit of $200
2.Enhanced Fast Pass
3.My AAA Discount (and have to pay more for exact same room)

Is anyone seeing a solution that I am not? I want/need both enhanced fast pass nad concierge :confused3

Ok silly but....I just though that I could add a day at the begining of my trip and book it directly through hotel with concierge. Once we get there request concierge for the remaining nights/days that were booked through AAA.
Do ya'll think it would work?
 
Call Disney resort and explain the situation. Also check out the disAbilities board. Because of your back you are elligible to get a Guest assistance card (GAC). This pass won't give you front of line access, but it will enable the CM's throughout the park to give you extra assistance and easy access to rides.
 
That's a perfectly splendid idea!!! Now why didn't I think of that??? I've been running numbers and making frantic phone calls in order to accomplish just that for my trip in June 2006. I considered booking two concierge level premium view rooms and requesting that they be connected to assure myself both space and concierge, but that's paying for double concierge with no guarantee of a room connection. Hence, I had resolved myself to booking the suite and pleading for the concierge level to any Cast Member in every department that would listen. We will be there for nine nights already, so what's one more if it gets me concierge in the long run. Though, again, there would be no guarantees that the concierge lounge would not be reserved to capacity for the following nine days, but it's worth a try. I had put off booking my AAA vacation upon hearing this news last Friday in that, I too, didn't want to either lose a deposit, incur a change fee, or give up the enhanced fastpass by not booking via AAA. And after enjoying a concierge suite for eight nights at Christmas last year with the advantage of the AAA fastpass, I believe my family would vote for a suite with only restaurant fare versus relinguishing the enchanced fastpass. The heavily rumored closure of the monorail beginning in January 2006 for a possible 18 months was already enough of a let down.

Never in a million years would I have that of this as a "disability". It hurts yeah but I function ya know? So I will visit the disabilities board and ask Disney about the GAC. I truly thank you and apreciate the time you took to help me find a possible solution.
