DLH new pools and tower names.

WOW!!!! I love the ideas! A couple of things I notice, though, are: the koi ponds & waterfalls are gone and so is the long gift shop outside of Wonder tower. I wish they had a non-aerial rendering of that area. I think it's going to be a great renovation!! I love love love the Tahitian restaurant!!

I have finally adjusted to the new names for the towers and now they're changing again, LOL. Honestly, I don't mind because I think naming the towers after Disney cruise ships was a lame idea for DLR.

I couldn't agree more with your two sentences.

I wonder now that people are staying in the new Dream tower rooms. If they look to have an Adventure style to them. I don't really think so from the pics I've seen but I wonder if this means the other towers will have different styled rooms now.

DL definitely needs more restaurants in my opinion. By 2012 there are going to be a ton of WDW fanatics descending on DL especially with Little Mermaid, World of Color, and Carsland being completed. I just think they need more affordable sitdown restaurants around the hotels. My kids will probably like the new additions of the slides/stuff but I personally hope they don't mess with the Neverland Pool main area. I think its great.

So is the quiet pool getting the ax in favor of the slides?

Thanks for sharing this!

Very, VERY happy that they'll be opening a retro "Tahitian" style restaurant! Even though that means they won't be refurbing/reopening the original in Adventureland...hmmm....maybe they'll refurb/reopen it as the Aladdin restaurant again? I hope so! I never got to experience the original, though I looooooved the Tahitian Terrace.

It's also super-cool that they're theming the towers after the Lands. Wonder if the theming will extend to decor or just to names?

very excited about the news, We have never traveled in the warm weather months to DLR, but this might tip me into visiting during swim weather!

I like the idea of these changes. While I think the Neverland pool is nice, these additions will really bring it up to a deluxe-hotel type of water area. It's nice to see them using Disneyland's history in the renovations too.

I'll admit this might sway me to staying onsite again the next time we do a big multi-day trip a couple years from now. I've only seen pictures of the renovated rooms, but they look very nice.

:confused3Does anyone know when the pool construction will be starting? Will the existing pool area still be usable this summer?

Well of course this is the first we heard about this. I would guess they will hold off for the summer. Since it is busier and the pool weather better.

As of the announcement today ... construction on the pool / restaurant area starts August of 2010.

I'm sure they'll do it in sections, but the pool area will likely not be available over next winter.

It looks awesome - I love the Monorail slides! Argh, just when I thought I had decided on HoJo's for our trip in September next year...hmmmmmm!

When in August???? I'll be there August 3-11!!!!

Got this in my email this morning - so excited! I love the idea of theming the hotel more with DL.

I must have missed the August date in the article- is there a separate announcement of this date?

We're heading to the DLH for our first stay 8/3-7 and I'd hate to have it in the middle of pool construction!

I'm thinking that the Grand's pool will be open for the DLH guests if theirs is closed. Call and check. I was going to go with my family this September, maybe we will stay at paradise pier instead, or save enough money for the GRAND.

The August start date was mentioned in an Orange County Register article. No exact dates, just said August ... and these things alway tend to change.

You can pretty much bet that the pool will be down over next winter, you'll likely have access to the other resort pools though (they tend to do this.)
