We will be staying the DLH for 7 nites and moving over to the GC for the remaining 3 nites we are at DL. We have standard views and would like to know if there is a standard view that might give a partial view of the park or the pool etc. Thanks for any info!

The standard rooms look out from the front of the hotel ( as usual) which looks out on lots of trees and parkinlots, Disneyland drive, The Paradise Pier Hotel and the Disneyland hotel. There is the Monorail courtyard which has been considered a standard view. This looks across the courtyard at other rooms and lots of trees and the monorail. I thought it was better than the parkinglot and roadway. Our room had a slight view of Downtown Disney. We could see the Indy building and could probably have seen the fireworks if we had stayed in the room at night.

daannzzz,
Thanks for the info. Just wondering what room number you were in or what part of the building your view was from ?? I heard that we could get a view of Downtown Disney. (Not sure what the Indy building is).

We were booked for a standard view room and we ended up overlooking the Neverland Pool. I hadn't made any view requests...I requested a daybed in the room, nonsmoking.

Have a great vacation!

I am sorry, I didn't read your question properly. The review I gave was of the Grand Californian Hotel. I am sorry. I don;t remember the room number we had! I often take video of the room number plaquard but didn't on that trip. ooops. You would request a Monorail Courtyard view to get that area.
The Standard View rooms at the DLH also look out at parkinglots and the surrounding suburbs, which can be pretty at night. Some of them may even have views off to the side of the parks. I booked an inexpensive rate on Expedia at the DLH in May and it didn't say what catagory of room it was suppose to be. I requested the Sierra tower which would be a themepark view or pool view and I got the pool view. The Sierra Tower has great rooms with a real nice bathroom layout.
