DL tickets and reservations - April 15!

Will those of us with tickets from out of state be blocked from making reservations? (I've got 4 day park hoppers from March 2020.) I'm also eager to reserve at the Grand Californian as soon as it is available...

Thanks for all the great info!

Hoping to finally make those October reservations next week! Hotel is booked. Now....just Disney. The only better news could be DL opening with parades or fireworks or World of Color. Something "extra".
Reservations are 60 days out on a rolling basis, so you won't be able to book October until August. By then they may very well have more attractions, California residents are getting vaccinated at a very fast clip.
The Mouse will get our money -- you have to have a ticket in your account before you can make a park reservation? If I'm shooting for certain weekends, I will have to buy the ticket first, then hope I can get my weekend? Seems a bit backwards to me. Should let me make reservations and then force me to buy ticket in same transaction if I get the reservation.
I would think they should let everyone buy tickets on the 12th, then try for reservations on the 15th. That would seem like a better way to not crash the ticketing system like ToD did. I only have one weekend I can go in the next two months - Memorial Day weekend, since I have VGC points to use up that would otherwise expire and I'm not flying down twice if I can't get reservations that weekend. This is one case where the logic of Disney is befuddling.

How do you link Grand California reservations in the Disneyland app?
After you book it, there is a place in the drop down menu under “My DIsneyland” that says “my hotel reservations”. If you click there, it’ll let you add it by name/confirmation number.
(This is from my phone - on a desk top, it’ll be top upper right hand corner).

I was able to link it online but it doesn't show in the app. I was able to link tickets in the app but they don't show in the online account. Are they supposed to sync?

I thought it would show under "My Plans"?

One would hope but there are a lot of us having that same problem with the tickets.

I don’t know if VGC is done differently than a regular reservation at the Grand though.

Can you only make park reservations on the website? Or will it be an option in the app?

So looks like I can book reservations on the 12th! I'll report back if anybody is interested.

But I do have a question I hope you wise people can answer. I can see my linked tickets in the app, but can't find them anywhere on the website. If I go to "link tickets" on the website and put in the number it tells me it's already linked to an account. Are they just automatically there on the website or is there a place I can confirm they are? Planning on running both the computer and the app on Monday and don't want any hiccups.
I have the same issue. I chatted with a cast member who told me this:
“Updates are still being made, so we recommend checking back at a later time.” Not super reassuring as I’d like everything to be in place before April 12, but I guess I’ll just keep checking and hoping it gets fixed.

Nobody can say for sure yet, but the wording they've put out thus far suggests that they're just going to do what the other parks are doing and make you check a box where you confirm that you're a CA resident and that you know you have to be a CA resident to get in. They might not block you, per se.

(If that's the case, there's the open question of how badly people will abuse the system, and whether Disney might change things if that happens.)

No indications yet how hard they're going to check at the gate - the current wording says "may" verify residency status.

But, if I were an out-of-state visitor, I wouldn't book anything earlier than June 15. (And, honestly, I personally wouldn't even do that.)

No way to add VGC reservations to the Disneyland app. It's one of those flaws (unless it got fixed). I'm actually surprised you were able to add the reservations online...

I also see my VGC reservation (late May) on the Disneyland web site, but not (yet) the app. Assuming that will change soon.

ok, I have no way to add the PP quote too.

Maybe Disney IT figured out how to fix the issue of VGC reservations (they didn’t used to be able to be added at all!) woohoo!

I don't think many people will chance it before the parks actually open and there are reports of whether and how they are verifying residency. If we find out they aren't, THEN you'll see the competition from us out-of-staters!

I didn’t mean reduced specifically for legacies :-). I meant that they may offer multi-day tix to accommodate folks that used to visit the park often - at least once a week. For example, it’s my hope that they’ll offer a ten-day ticket. The price would be reduced because guests would pay up front and in bulk. Just as with APs, we didn’t pay standard one-day prices for 50-100 visits. I saw something earlier today that suggested such an offering. In any case, we’ll know by Friday :-).

A ticket longer than 5 days would be so great!! I ended up getting APs for my granddaughter and myself because it was more cost effective than adding days to a 5 day park hopper. We're not local - we're in northern California, but we like to take 9-10 day trips so we have lots of pool time and rest time and we have the luxury of allowing the Disney magic to dictate our days rather than having an itinerary.

They added the ability to do this a couple of weeks ago.
