DL tickets and reservations - April 15!

as selfish as this sounds, i hope they keep the tix allowed for CA residents only for a while (6 months?)...it's gonna be a guaranteed site crash once they open the floodgates (even for when dates open after the current 60day calendar)
I really don't think it's going to crash the site on a daily basis. They just aren't going to have *that* high of demand for each individual day.

This is people trying to get two months at once, AND it's the initial rush after a long time of being closed. Lots of pent-up demand.

If anything, I think the fault for today is more that they tried to launch the entire system - tickets, hotel reservations, third-party - on the same day at the same time. Without knowing what they're going through at the moment - that seems like a really big risk for failure of some kind, especially if all of those systems have to talk to each other.

I would have spread those out for sure.

Assuming things are queued properly - the issue would typically more just spreading all of that traffic out over time. Another crush shouldn't be a big deal - it just make take a few hours. (Barring some kind of tech glitch like this.)

I was also able to schedule dinner for the first evening. Tomorrow the second evening opens up. Of course if my two days are not available in the parks then we will cancel the entire package.

So I looked on my Disney account to see the package I booked for Dec. and check if there were ticket numbers (no). It says "Tickets expire 13 days after first use or January 12, 2022, whichever occurs first." Our reservation begins Dec 13, 2021. Is the turn around always that quick?

Also, it has this information, which says that I can make a park reservation Sep 18 for my Dec 13 trip, which I assume is 60 days out. But what do they mean by "Check-in available Dec 8"? Check in for what?

Watching this, I'm becoming extremely concerned about when they DO roll out individual days. Smaller availability, and I don't expect there will be a lot of flexibility - I know that I, for one, will need to get the days I need to get, and there isn't any wiggle room.

Hotel check in. They are staring online check in for the DLR hotels. When you get to the hotel your suppose to just stop by the desk and they will give you your room keys.

Those who got hotel + tix: have you gotten any ticket confirmation number via email? My hotel confirmation number doesn't work; that is, there's nothing on my Disney account to show that I have tickets. Doesn't that mean, if I ever get through the reservations queue, I won't be able to reserve anything? :crazy2:

I never received ticket information, but I was allowed to make reservations (just before the site apparently crashed).

I teach and we are back in person now and I could just see myself in the middle of lecture or lab, saying excuse me kids, I need to break here and get my tickets. So I took the day off, LOL.

I teach too, and I contemplated taking the day off. Instead, I made an activity for my Seniors to do without my help and if they finished, they could get caught up on other assignments. :)

They are offering an online hotel check-in 5 days before your stay.

I know for WDW you can check in to your hotel online way ahead of time so maybe DL will now be offering this as well!

Individual days?

You will be able to do hotel check-in online. It's part of the contactless stuff they've rolled out for the hotels. So I'd guess it's that.

Very interesting - September 18th is 86 days in advance of December 13th. I believe check-in refers to online check-in for your hotel reservation - rather than going to the front desk upon arrival.

Wow, I had a wait time change back to "more than an hour", is that a good sign that the processing is happening again...?

Actually, on all 4 browser windows now....

Maybe they are "back in business"...?
