Help!

Where should we buy our Disneyland tickets?

Should we buy them online at Disney? Is the Southern CA City Pass a good deal?

We are looking at buying at least a 3 day hopper pass, is it cheaper to buy it from Disney or when we get to DL (or from the hotel).

I am begining to feel an information overload and I can't seem to make any decisions! Aaah!

Thanks!

From what I've been able to tell, the city pass looks like a great deal if you're also planning on going to Knott's, Sea World and the SD Zoo since it includes all of those. I've heard of some people getting them at Costco for less than the price of a 3-day park hopper.

I don't think it makes a difference buying a regular 3-day hopper either online or at the hotel/front gate unless you have to pay shipping.

As far as I know, it costs more to buy your tickets at the front gate. It should cost less to pre-purchase from either the Disney Store or online.

<font color=navy>I believe that the tickets sold online at the Disney website is the same as the tickets sold at the gates. Different hotels also sell the tickets, and they're also the same price. Tickets online may have a shipping price, I haven't checked into that lately, but if I remember correctly, it was something like $10 for shipping.

If you don't have the tickets ahead of time, and your hotel sells them, get them there & save that time in line.

If you haven't got a hotel yet, you might want to consider staying at a DL Resort hotel, or one of the Good Neighbor hotels & get a package - depending on the time of year you go, you can get the third night free at some, or the 4th night free at others, which would save money in the long run.

If you do go with separate DL tickets you can get a 5 day pass for the price of 3. If you don't use the extra 2 days you're not out anything, but you have them should you want to make use of them (during the evening after a day somewhere else perhaps).

Just to post a clarification, that DL hopper tickets do expire, while ADisneyPrinces was not stating that they don't I wanted to clairfy that if you got a 5 for the price of 3, that they will expire (not sure when you'd have to read the information since all hopper tickets do expire, most have different rules as to when, either number of days from frist use, or a specific end date, etc.)

Since WDW don't expire many people think they can save unused days and are upset when they find out this isn't true at DL.

According to the Disney website, buying tickets in advance does get you cheaper tickets than purchasing at the main gate. Specifically, a 5-day parkhopper is $184 for ages 10+, and $149 for ages 3-9 at the main gate. However, purchasing online gets you a price of $129 for ages 10+, and $99 for ages 3-9. For a 3-day parkhopper, you will pay $129 for ages 10+, and $99 for ages 3-9 at the main gate, while purchasing online would have the prices of $124 for ages 10+, and $94 for ages 3-9. According to the website, there is no shipping charge for standard delivery. The Disney Store tickets are the same price as online.

I have no idea what the hotel ticket prices would be. However, it should be simple matter to call and ask, if you want to.

Thank you for all the great suggestions.

It looks like we will be going through the Disney site. We will be getting the City Pass and we are also going to book our hotel through them. We actually are getting a better deal through the Disney site then I expected. We will be getting one night free at the Embassy Suites.

Thanks again!
