OK, DH will be at VGC for 2 nights with friends, and will have only 1 day in the parks, Sept 6. Now I see DL will close by 5 pm?

This is for a cast party night, would not care if it was not his only day to tour. :guilty:

I am hoping they either open earlier,( I was at DL on Miley's 16th BD party, and they did that). OR they leave C.A. open later that night than 8pm? Any one remember the procedure?

Where are you seeing that it's closed? The DL site shows its open till 8. That happens to be our pool day so I am glad we won't miss park time.

Here's what Al Lutz has to say about it. So maybe its only taking up part of the park? But seems like it would still mean Blue Bayou would be closed.

Disneyland will clear out New Orleans Square and Critter Country by 5PM, and the west side of the park will have the usual rubber chicken and pasta salad buffets set up for dinner by 7PM (industrial strength rolls and giant bowls of Caesar salad round out the buffet, while platters of chocolate blobs and sticky fruit tarts pass as the dessert course, typically).

A few of the rides will operate, and they’ll use the Fantasmic! mist screens to show a collection of music and video, much like they do now for private corporate parties and Grad Nite.

Disneyland Resort Service Celebration – Thursday, September 6. Disneyland will close early, possibly by 5 p.m., for a private cast member recognition event. Disney California Adventure will remain open until 8 p.m. This schedule has not yet been confirmed by Disney, and may change. The official park hours schedule at Disneyland.com lists Disneyland hours as 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

THE most important part of that entire post, which is from another Disney fan site, not Disney:

"This schedule has not yet been confirmed by Disney, and may change."

I'll have to keep my eye on the schedule. Say it does close at 5 and I already have my reservations, would they notify me to change it or if I arrive by 5 would I still be able to get into the BB? I don't think reservations will fill up too quickly that week, but I don't want to chance it either, but at the same time I'd really like to keep it as is if possible because it is our 10yr anniversary and would like to celebrate it on that date.

The entertainment schedule on DL's website shows no Soundsational Parade on 9/6, which would support a 5PM closing time theory. Maybe DCA hours will be extended to help with the overflow?

Last year DL did close exceptionally early on the Thursday after Labor Day for a cast member party but did open one hour earlier than normal. My guess is that if the party is on the 6th, they will do that again.

They should contact you. If you see the schedule change to an earlier closing and they don't contact you, contact them so you can get your reservation changed.

Ack! I really hope this isn't true!! When do you think we will know for sure?? That is supposed to be our final day at disney, an early closing would really suck. :(

Just off the phone with DL dining reservations, and they confirmed that the park will close at 6PM on the 6th. Hence no Soundsational Parade on DLR's website for that date. DCA's hours remain unchanged - 8PM close, 8:15 WOC.

granted but I have found in all the years I have been on here that when it comes to things like that...the website BayGirl22 was referring to, is usually on the mark...

Well, just got a call from Disney Dining about my reservation. Was told the park is closing at 5 and the latest reservations they are taking is 3:40 that day. They made it sound like it would be the entire park, not just New Orleans Square.

Thanks for confirming for us, but sorry about your anniversary. Maybe now you need to do CCT instead? ;)

I'm so glad my timing worked out. That's our non-park day, we have a DLH cabana until 2 and then reservations at Ralph Brennan's for dinner. Totally luck that I chose Thurs for that and for the first time I won't have to shuffle stuff around.

But it sounds like an evening in DCA with WOC is still dooable. So not a total loss for those planning to be in the park.

I will advise DH to go to Cal Adv first, and do Cars Land. then hop over to DL for awhile, and then return to Cal Adv at night.

They may just stay in Cal Adv for the day. :joker:
