Hi,

If we choose a DJ for our reception, will we still need a musician for the ceremony (at Sea Breeze Point) or does the 4-hour DJ package include the ceremony? Also, what kind of lighting is included in the package?

Thanks,

The DJ will include the time frame in one location- so yes, you would need to make arrangements for the ceremony, whether a live musician or a separate audio set-up.

Lighting is typical colored atmosphere lighting of the dance floor, DJ, cake, etc. (No disco lights).

Hope this helps!

Not the original poster, but DJ Chuck, does it include the uplighting around the room, like if you wanted it a certain color? Does it include the Gobos? DF likes the castle one.

I would also think the set-up is only in one room? We're having Pre-reception at WHR and reception in a Ballroom, so I'm assuming I'd need to arrange something else for WHR if I wanted it?

Thanks!

Below is a link for a good example of a recent wedding with uplighting- they also had multi-colored lighting on the dance floor. (The greens package, however, is additional).

You will sit with your planner and discuss decor/lighting, they will put together a basic package (lights on dance floor, DJ, cake, sweetheart table) or upgraded packages (gobos, pinspots, uplighting, etc.) They will price it out accordingly. So yes, there is a basic package with the DJ, but you can (as they say) always add more!

Whitehall pre-receptions USUALLY have no music (other than hotel BGM, which is used 95% of the time) or special lighting. I have, on occasion, set up a smaller, separate audio unit for music in Whitehall, but it is unusual for any "decor extras" at the pre-reception, as your guests are only spending 45-60 minutes there. Most brides concentrate on the actual reception, to get more bang for the buck.

Thanks DJ Chuck! I was afraid it would be extra...I like all the upgrades . Thanks for posting the video clip it was really helpful and reassured me the that colors/decor that are in the GF ballrooms are not too overwhelming when there's an event going on.

Good to know on WHR, I was thinking we might not get anything since it's such a short period of time anyway, but it helps to know that's what people usually do.

Thanks again!
