Hi Everyone!
We just got back about a week ago and I wanted to give you all a review of these two places.
Dixie Stampede: This was the Christmas show and it was awesome!! This was my and DD7s favorite of the two. The food was good and our server was awesome. He was funny and entertaining and really interacted with my kids. The show was very good. The food was yummy. everyone agreed it was better here then at Medieval Times. I would love to go back here.
Medieval Times: WOW! DH and DD13 and DS10 loved this place! The food was good, it was tasty..just not as tasty as Dixie (plus Dixie gave you more). The show was really awesome. The kids were so riveted I had to keep reminding them to eat. We went to the latest show -8:00pm. After that show there was a meet and greet with the King, Princess, all the Knoghts and the bad guy..you also get to meet the guy "hosting" the show (I forget what his title was). The kids got autographs and photos with everyone. Then they have a dance party with everyone. It was really fun. My DD13 spent quite a bit at their gift shop. They couldn't stop talking about it and even after Disney and Sea World ... this still tops their list!
Both were surprises for my kids. The Medieval Village was really cool and it was open for free the night we went.
Go to both if you can. Both were great for different reasons. If you have any questions ask away..........

How is either show for 3 boys..........ages 5, 3, & 2? I have considered the Pirate show too, but of the 3, I didn't know which would be more age appropriate for my little guys. Thanks!

Of the 3, Dixie Stampede is probably the best for kids that age--our 3 year old loved the show, it was the parents that did not like it. Way, way, way too much money for what you get at the show-no eating utensils, no food choice, etc.

I would personally save the money and use it elsewhere.

I think Dixie Stampede would be the best for boys that age. The knights at Medieval Times "die" after the battles so it's quite brutal. Dixie has enough "boyish" stuff to keep them entertained. We thought the food was good and we bought the tickets at Ticketmania-good price. Also book as soon as you can we booked 6 months out and had awesome seats atboth places!
I didn't chose Pirates because I heard the food was only so-so and that the musty smell is horrible. It just seemed low budget compared to the others.
Whatever you chose..Have FUN!!!

We are planning to go to Dixie Stampede the first week in April. Did you find that Ticketmania was the cheapest way to go? I saw that if you order tickets from the Dixie site, you got a free drink. Is that a good value?

Our party will include ages 12 - 72. We have previously attended Hoop de do Revue which they all loved. The kids got to vote between the Disney Luau and Dixie and Dixie won out.

Any difference between the early and later show? Any suggestions for enhancing the experience?

I found that ticketmania was a good value..I actually bought all my tickets from them including Sea World and WDW. You might be able to find a coupon in one of those Florida coupon books but we wanted all of our tickets ahead of time. About the drinks - beer, pespi and coffee...and water! are included. If you want a "drink" you need to buy that separately. They come in cute souvenir boot mugs. It was like $4.00 for the mug filled with soda and $3.00 for the empty mugs. Go early the preshow is great and the best seating goes fast (It's in a different room then the actual show). There is a gift shop and as soon as you enter the usher you into a room for a souvenir photo or two. The did one of the whole family and one of just the kids. Of course I bought both...pictures ARE one of a kind souvenirs! I think the were like $15 a piece.
Be prepared to hoot and holler and kick! It really was great fun!!

Oh- I don't know if there is a difference between the early and late shows. We did the early one here as it was our first day and I knew we'd be starving after all that driving!
