Diverticulitis...

OK, now I have to go there........ he said that "it's not normal" but he still is going some.......................:confused3 I didn't ask more than that! I don't think I even asked that much, but somehow I got the info!

This maybe TMI but here goes...sometimes a little poop will come out but most of the poop cannot get past the inflamed area of the colon and the pain will get worse until he gets the aantibiotics...please have him go to his doctor or the ER soon or he will get very uncomfortable...they will most likel do a CAT scan too.

This could also be "some" that is just squeezing past a blockage - which is a very serious thing.. When did you say he has to see the doctor again? If you really don't know what he is or isn't supposed to be eating or "doing" (in terms of bathroom issues), I'm thinking maybe you should take him back to the ER with a loooooong list of questions - derived from some of the advice given here - and not leave until you know exactly what he should be doing.. It's really not an illness to fool around with - or delay treatment..

I will look at the link here in a minute... right now any and all info helps!

He did go to the ER on Monday.

Wednesday he seen his doctor. She wants him on the meds for at least 7 days before seeing him again. If it gets worse sooner he is to go in, or if it's not getting better by then she wants to see him as well.

If he seems like he is getting worse, by all means, I will do whatever it takes to get him somewhere!

I am just trying to learn all that I can about this so I will know what he should and shouldn't eat and what I can do to help. I want him to feel better!

I also just found out that his mother and grandmother both suffer from this. I wonder why I didn't know that sooner...... we are always asking for family history and this seemed to slip by!
