I just spoke with the water coordinator and my DD's dive on 10/21 has been canceled. They really do not know how long this will take to clear up. Sounds like there are a few different issues impacting the diving. At this time they are not optimistic that that there will be any dives this month. Everything is uncertian at this time.
Since this was the only reason we were visiting this time, I guess my next call is to cancel my hotel reservations.
Just spoke with WDW Tours and the castmemember said as of right now there are no advisories out for next week's aqua seas tours.... crossing my fingers and wishing for pixie dust that our tour won't be cancelled.

We just returned from a rather damp trip to the World and observed the dolphins doing the same thing. It appeared that there were other dolphins on the other side and they kept bumping up against the gate.
We also did not see the capsule thing that the divers can go into to take off their mask. My DH did the dive a few years ago and they each had a turn taking off their mask and getting their picture taken with their head in the capsule.
Finally, we saw more sharks than we've ever seen. We counted at least 8 of them.
Hopefully they bring it back b/c my DH had a great time as did we getting to watch him.
My husband and I just finished our scuba certification and he was hoping to do the Dive Quest tour during our July trip....surely this problem will be rectified by then (just hope I can get the courage to swim with sharks - even if they are Disney sharks)
Just received a call that they are cancelling all Dive Quest dives through the end of October 2011. I was scheduled for October 19. No specific reason except there are some maintenance issues.
Did they offer to refund your money? My booking is for Nov. 5th and we can't reschedule but if they refund my money at least I can book something else...
FYI: Disney called about my Aqua Seas booking for Nov 5th - everything is being cancelled up until and including November 7th and there is no definite reopening date. So there may be more cancellations for the month of November yet to come.

Presently they are cancelled up and including the 7th but they are not positive that the tank will be ready by the 8th so there may be more cancellations next week for dates after the 7th. It's touch and go right now.
We are staying through the 9th of Nov and the guest services rep who called about our cancellation for the 5th said it really wasn't worth the effort for him to rebook us to the 9th because it seemed like it was going to be a long term problem but they were just cancelling 1 week at a time 2-3 weeks out. He seemed pretty knowledgeable not just a CM who doesn't even know what DISers know. When I answered hesitantly he even figured out that I knew what was coming and said I must be reading the boards and blogs....hmmmm....yes
We had Dolphins In Depth and Aqua Seas booked for the beginning of November but I canceled last week. I did not really want to be swimming in there if they are having issues and I figured they moved most of the sharks, fish and rays anyway. Hopefully they will bring things back and not just give up.
Does anyone else wonder if this is at all related to the Sea World incident, where a previously "friendly" whale went ballistic and killed the trainer? I can't help but wonder if Disney is reacting because the dolphins (or sharks, perhaps) are acting "a little strange" and they don't want to take any chances. Just wondering.
