You know, if you are going to stay at AKL you just have to have a night like you did. It sounds perfect!
We had such a good time! I want to do it again!
Chelsea is her Mother's daughter. Switching out your plate totally sounds like something you would do too. Heck, I would too!
Yes, she does come by it honestly!
The folktales around the fire just sound so amazing. That is just one of the many things I love about Disney. They don't have to do something extra like that but they do. I just love it!
It those extra touches that keep us coming back, that's for sure!
That storytelling sounds awesome!! I love King Pin! AAAAAAH I can't wait!! In an hour we'll be in the teens!
You will be there before you know it! Isn't it great to know you will be there soon!
What a great way to spend the evening! I'm glad Connor didn't launch himself into the fire, that would have ruined a perfectly wonderful night.....
But would have definitely added a dramatic element to the TR! LOL!
You know that Chelsea has this DIS thing down when she understands the importance of staging a plate for a photo!
You are so right! I think she even said something about making it pretty for the DIS.
Coming out of lurkdom to say I've really enjoyed your trip report, and I'm sad that you are to the last day. Your kids are adorable!

Thank you so much! Luckily, the last day was packed full of stuff, so the TR still has a ways to go.
Only a half hour of story telling! I think I would have begged for "just one more story please!" like kids do before bedtime.
I wanted to -- I could have sat there all night listening to Tsholo's stories -- she was great!
Oh wow!! Those desserts look YUMMY!! And the storytelling sounds like such a neat experience!!
Boma's desserts are always top-notch! The storytelling was one of my favorite moments of the trip!
Great update Jackie! I didn't know BOMA rotated menus - I was wondering since there aren't many restaurants over there.
That story time at the fire looks really fun!
Thank you! I don't think I realized they rotated the menus until that night -- it was still good and the desserts were the same.
The storytelling was very neat! We had a great time rocking and listening.
Thank you kind mail hippo for our postcard! The boys loved getting it!!
I am so glad -- I love writing postcards and got a huge kick out of putting them into the mouth of the hippo. Maybe I would enjoy mailing my bills more if the post office installed one of those.
I am totally NOT one of those "my food cannot touch each other" people but I was really glad to hear she got a new plate. I noticed the desserts rearranged and thought the salmon juice would not be good mixed with the sweets!
I think I might have raised my eyebrow when she returned to the table with that combination.
Storytelling and swimming sounds like an awesome end to your day!!
It was!
What a great update, Jackie! I love that on this TR you have spent time sharing some of the resort activities with us -- the ceramics, the storytelling, King Pin! I have enjoyed reading about these details, it is a good reminder to take advantage of what the resorts have to offer!!!! So thanks for that.
Thank you! One of the reasons I wanted to stay at AKL is because they do have such a great variety of activities -- I wanted to make sure we tried out as many of them as we could. All of them were so much fun!
Boma *sigh* We went last November, didn't go this summer, are going to go back to Sanaa this trip (September) so I am READY for Boma again in Dec!!! I didn't know about the menu.... what a good tip! I will have to go back and see when we went last time!!
I want to try Sanaa soon -- I am very intrigued by their menu and by your review this summer.
The rockers and firepit are soo inviting... They have a similar one near Sanaa, in Kidani village -- where the animals are on the savannah.
I think I need to stay at Kidani and try out their rocking chairs.
ONE MORE FULL DAY??!! Can it be!!??

Always creeps up on you!
Yes, it does, but we did so much, and I took 94 pictures, so I should be able to drag it out a bit more. I want to be done before we leave though...
We're almost on your last day??

Well thank goodness you are going back in 3 weeks so we can hear more!!
I know -- I feel like I have a deadline to get this TR done now!
What a fun night at AKL. The more you describe what you did the more I realize I have to go back and experience it all again. I never saw the hippo mail man -- too cute!
They always seem to have good annual pass rates...
I have to say I like the way your kids eat -- especially Connor. I would have a plate of fries for breakfast if I could. Hmmm...wonder if I have any in the freezer.
Connor loves his fries -- especially at Boma. (I will not like paying adult prices for him next year, I know that.)
Stories by the fire sound so fun. I wish I'd done that. I did spend a little time rocking by the fire though after dark. It was beautiful! Makes me want a fire pit at home!!
Me too! That is a really good idea -- maybe I will mention that to Charles -- rocking chairs and a fire pit in our backyard!
