That is so funny about the "pot" kid. Wish he would take 2 weeks and quit just to see how many webs were really in his head. Maybe having a clear mind would change his habit.

Having been in contact with heavy drug users not one started with their now drug of choice. yep, they started with pot. Not one of them said the life they were living was the one they would chose if they could go back.

You gotta love the teens trying to bluff you. What I do to my grandson would let him know I knew what I saw. If grand son is fibbing I told him he had a red light on his forehead that would flash. He once told me a fib while he was putting his hand over his forehead. Oh ya I was sure he had told me a fib at that point.

Hey there everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY.

I am thrilled to report that we have a forecast for the 70's this weekend up here in the Pacific Northwest. It will be amazing and I am so excited. We have our scout graduation celebration at the beach tomorrow, so sunshine is a big perk! Then Sunday is little league day at the Mariners and the roof will be open to sunshine. We also have our last baseball game tonight, and yep you guessed it. It will be played in sunshine!

Of course last night was our school carnival which is a huge event, mostly outside and we were rained on, but hey, you can't have everything, right??

Jen, 6 days is not too bad, and I have to laugh at the schools maximum days of 3. I mean do they think we don't want our kids in school? It is ridiculous really. My son missed 9 days the first semester after getting ill on 3 occasions. They sent me a warning letter that if he missed 11 days he wouldn't get his credits. Seriously? Ok, son, go to school with your fever and chills. Gotta get those credits ya know! I do know some parents really push the envelope and have no common sense at all. One aquaintance of mine just took her Kindergartner and 1st grader out the last 3 weeks of school to go on vacation. Her kids have missed 50 days of school this year. Now that is out of control!

I agree with you on the school attendance thing. It just bugs me sometimes. Part of life is making memories with family while they are kids, and not every family is able to do that during school breaks. Every time I hear about kids who graduate high school with perfect attendance since Kindergarten, I am amazed. How is that even possible???? So their kid never got sick?? Not once?? Come on. Most likely those are the ones who send their sicko kids into school and pass it on to everyone else.




I've had a busy morning! Took Ruben to work so I could have the van and spent the morning running errands. At least they are done now.

Afternoon all!

Thanks Beth for the well wishes about our meet tomorrow! I sure hope they work but I have a feeling we are in for a doozy! Today it is super dark and overcast and they are predicting 70% chance of showers so I think it is pretty much a given that it is going to be yucko. In all the years we have swam I have yet to have a meet in the rain so this will be new! Had lots of cold meets but none in the rain yet. I just hope we don't get lightening so they have to cancel it Guess we will just have to wait and see. I know I will be bringing LOTS of warm blankies and warm clothes that's for sure and I sure hope the girls don't get sick with only a week till our trip!!

I woke up today to a present from Shane. You know you are getting old when you get a back massage pillow LOL. I'm not complaining though cuz I LOVE it! My back is always killing me and I am anxious to try it out. It is one of those shiatsu ones with heat in it so I am hoping it works well. And as a present to myself I had to go to walmart and get a few more new pairs of jeans and new undies cuz none of mine fit anymore The old bootay is too HUGE for my old ones. Sad to say! Gotta love it! Next year I will be 45 and half way to 50 EEK! SCARY!!!

I am looking forward to tonight though nonetheless. Mom and dad and Shane and the girls are all taking me out to dinner at some Italian place that mom and dad like and then we are going back to their place for cake (like I really need it LOL) and then as I said tomorrow is our meet so hopefully it should be a good time.

And next week we have TONS of fun stuff going on so I am really looking forward to it all!

Part of me was wishing I could have been at DL today since it was my bday and the openings of everything but then when I saw the people, uh never mind LOL. I just hope it isn't that bad when we go! EEK!!!! Def going to have to take good advantage of MM and fastpass that's for sure! Only 8 more days!!!

OMG, I saw Kerri's pic on FB with the 3 hour line for Star Tours!! That is insane. I don't care how much I loved a ride, I don't think I could stand around waiting for 3 hours for it!

I saw another article on MP that said the line was FIVE hours for ST. Sorry but I don't even do ONE hour lines. I am so spoiled with FP LOL. But to answer your question right now the Disney hotels are giving out special FP's for ST and LM to their guests. And no LM doesn't normally have it but I guess they are doing a special line or something for the hotel guests. I am glad because I was stressing about being able to get our WOC pass and then get in line but this will def help. Also I guess they are going to open ST up during MM so you know where WE will be heading first thing!!

I am hoping between MM and the FP'S that will be able to do them both at least once on our trip. That and I want to see the new parade. That is my goal but once I have done each once I plan to stay FAR away from them and am actually hoping maybe it will keep the lines down a bit for the rest of the rides One can hope anyway LOL

Hi Lisa. What about grabbing a shuttle one way in the morning to the park and picking up a rental at Alamo in DTD to take back to the airport. I have done this several times and it is usually about $25 for the one day rental if I use alamo through the Costco website. That way I get to maximize my time.

I'm all caught up. It's been a busy week! As Kelly mentioned, our weather went INSANE on Wednesday. Ours was one of the areas that had the tornado warning. It was around 3:30 in the afternoon. Funny that we didn't have one earlier in the day when the rain and hail were coming down SIDEWAYS. LOL.

I really REALLY want to make a run down to DL this month. Not sure it's going to work. If not, then I'll pay the $50 to keep the southwest coupon open for another year and then I might go for a couple days in October.

Does anyone know how long the special tickets for LM for hotel guests is going to go for? Cause that would give me more of an inncentive to switch to the DLH for our July trip.

Oh Beth~ You are a hottie! And I was never married to Tahoe's dad thank goodness. Three weeks after we broke up I discovered I was pregnant. Oppsie! At least I have a super cute son out of the deal.

Summer vacation has officially started for me. My son's have two more days still. I am so ready for the fun to begin! We are camping in Yosemite the 13-16th as long as the weather starts cooperating. I cannot wait!

I saw another article on MP that said the line was FIVE hours for ST.

I'm all caught up. It's been a busy week! As Kelly mentioned, our weather went INSANE on Wednesday. Ours was one of the areas that had the tornado warning.

I just watched a show on tv called Tornado Rampage 2011 and it was about all those tornadoes that hit back in April. The devastation is just so massive. It's hard to watch.

At least I have a super cute son out of the deal.

Yes! Yay for sunshine! We are going to the beach for the day tomorrow and Sunday is my grandson's 2nd birthday party at the park. Nice weather on a weekend only happens a few time a year around here.

Yep warm weekends are far and few between these days. But best of all warm weekend at the beach --Now that is rare, although we have had weather where beach was warmer then home city. I am about 65-70 miles from you.

Morning all!

I had a GREAT day yesterday! Girls got their yearbooks at school so it was fun to see all the pics when they got home and then as soon as Shane got home we went to mom and dad's and they took me to this little hole in the wall Italian place that they like which was really nice and then we went back to their place for cake. It was really nice.

Unfortunately I have a headache today so I sent Shane and the girls off to the meet without me because I know when I wake up with one and esp with the ugly weather we are having it would ONLY get worse so as much as I hate to miss them swim I think it is for the best. I just hope THEY don't get sick!!

I am just going to be hanging out today at home and trying to get my headache to go away and doing some laundry while I'm home. It NEVER ends round this joint I tell ya.

By the way thanks Patty for the birthday wishes!!

Congrats Jess on getting in the marathon!

Morning ladies!! Things have been wackadoodle around here!! Went to Rhode Island for family graduations and then Napa with our best friends. Had a great time at both - we left Napa with over 7 cases of wine!!!

Getting into our busy season with work (company picnics). Starting off with a 1000 person event next Saturday! And the phones have been ringing off the hook - nice to see companies starting to do events for their employees again!

And such crazy weather - so tired of the rain!! We got new patio furniture and BBQ and can't use them (Costco has a beautiful patio set for a great price!).

My Halloween trip may be changed around a little - waiting to hear from one of the gals regarding time off. Hoping we can still go at Halloween - other option is Christmas, which I love but have been many times.

Well - I am going to enjoy my last low key weekend before the summer starts!! Just wish the sun would come out!!

I'm right there with you on the headache! I woke up with one last night and worked all night with it. It is pretty bad right now and so far not going away. I really hope it goes away when I go to sleep soon! Unfortunately I have to go to work no matter what tonight as it is my last day before my vacation and I can get into trouble for calling in.

I was planning to go to Kohl's this morning but I just cant stand the fluorescent lights at this point.

Wine, Did I hear 7 cases of wine? A girl after my own heart . Nothing better then nice glass of "good" wine with dinner. Ok, before dinner, during dinner, after dinner, before bed, Ya pretty much anytime.

Date night I see Miss Beth. You know this could become a habit . Now why would you want to move away from Vegas? You have it all there, great restaurants, attractions, headliner shows, and great people watching ---Oh ya and that bad habit gambling. Free is a good price for sure. Have a wonderful time and be home before midnight . I heard that plenty of times in days past.

Well, dang Kelly did the Dr. not give you anything for those headaches? I used to take a med, that once I started to feel the makings of a migraine, would block the headache from happening. Worked great. Since I usually do have have pain with mine I don't worry about the sick tummy and flashing lights in eyes. I know I am lucky no pain --Dr. tells me that lots. Good idea to stay home from meet. Kids worry when moms and dads are hurting, might focus on you and not the meet.
Sometimes those hole in the restaurants have the best food. Just like mom used to make. Doesn't get better then that. Happy you have a nice birthday.

My husband would give me a nice card for my birthday with a couple of hundred dollar bills tucked inside. One year we took my sister and her kids and our daughter out for birthday dinner/lunch. He game me my card. I opened it, read saying, then proceeded to turn the card upside down and shake it----no money WHAT, NO MONEY how can that be there is always money. I know my manners were not good. We get home and I see my money --it is in the living room --a new curio to hold my snow babies. Boy did I feel stupid. He said the look on my face with card then curio was so worth it.

I spent my birthday at DL this year. I think I need to make that a habit every year. Me and the Mouse.

Have a sunny day. I better get this rear end up and moving. I need to plant rest of flowers and get tomato plants in some potting soil. Poor things have been living in the store itty bitty pots for a week now. I am afraid they are gonna strike and not grow.
