Anyone still going? I seem to remember that Theresa and Angie have a room booked, but have not heard from anyone else recently. Less that 4 weeks away!

We were going to go and had everything booked, but life got in the way. Thanks to work and an unplanned and somewhat last minute summer guest, it's not going to work out this year. Is there no one else going? I think there was a group, maybe 5 or 6, that said they were going...... Anyone hear from them?

Carole, you'll have to let us all know how it was!

Not to butt in here, but I'm pretty sure Theresa and Angie aren't going to make it after all. I think due to work issues. I'm sure they'll pop in and post at some point though.

Morning everyone! Just a quick check in from DLR. We are having a wonderful vacation

I just can't decide, well we can't decide. If we all go, then we will stay at Worldmark, no cost to stay there, we pay it monthly. Just 2 3 day park hoppers & 3 Halooween party tickets and airfare X3. That is where is it gets ugly. Airfare is crazy right now! It would $920 to fly and more than that to drive either the truck or the Jeep. If we all go it would be Tuesday -Sunday, and solo it would be Thursday night-Sunday night.

Airfare is totally crazy right now. We were thinking of coming for the Halloween party, but airfare for two out of Bellingham would be over $700 and that's not going to happen....... so I guess no Halloween party this year Oh well, maybe next year (although I'm hoping to get to WDW next year!!!!)

Airfare really is getting crazy. If we only had to pay for room, park tickets, and food, we'd be okay, but adding in another $1300 for airfare is what kills us. Someday I'd like to be in the position to say, "Oh, only $1300 for airfare. No problem. Lets book it."

This is going to sound strange....but I like the food better at Disneyland compared to WDW.

I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because I know the restaurants and menus better at DL. In other words, I know where to go and what's GOOD there. (And I don't have to make ADRs 6 months in advance.)

Really? I think DL definitely has it's good ones, Carnation Cafe's soup, Cafe Orlean's pomme frites, the potatoes at Blue Bayon, etc, but over all I think WDW has better food.
Then again, it's been almost 5 years since I've been to the World so maybe I'm imagining things better than they were.

We should go back just to make sure.

I haven't decided yet. Cost will determine when and if we go at all - haha. We went during Halloween a few years ago and had one of our best trips ever. I would love to go during that time again.

Hey Ladies! Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend. We've certainly have had crazy weather up here in the Bay Area. It's raining right now!

I'm taking a last minute trip to DLR in 2 weeks with a friend! She is taking her 12 yr old DD for her first trip to DLR (although they live in Georgia and visit WDW quite often!) So I'm meeting them there - bringing my oldest two kids! Can't wait - I NEED a vacation!!

The whole family will be there in October! We will be in the parks on Oct 20-22nd! Definitely want to meet up with whomever is there!

Yay!! I'll be there Fri-Sun Oct. 21-23. Actually, I'll probably arrive on the 20th, because I'll be taking the bus and it doesn't get in until 8:30 at night, which obviously won't work if I'm supposed to be at the Halloween party Friday night.

I've totally had Halloween on the brain today. It's only 5 months away you know.

Anyway all this talk about Halloweentime at DL had me thinking about my plans for October.

After mulling it over, this is basically what I ended up with:

Arrive Thursday night, Oct. 20 around 8:30 and go to hotel (maybe a fast, late dinner or snack somewhere?).

On Friday since I don't have an AP, I'll spend the day in DTD just hanging out. Maybe have lunch somewhere in DTD?

Around 3:00 or so, I'll start getting ready for the Halloween party (not sure what costume yet, but I know I want to wear one this time!)

Halloween party starts at 7:00, but I believe you can enter at 4:00, so I'll do that, and then party all night!! (or as long as I can, lol)

Saturday I'll spend the day in the parks.

Sunday morning my bus leaves early, around 8:30.

It will be quick, but fun! I'm looking forward to it and hope to meet up with as many ladies as possible for meals, drinks, photos, or all of the above! (everyone there those dates is doing the Halloween party, right?) I miss you all!

My DH reminded me that that is his birthday weekend. He turns 30 on the 20th and wants to go to Vegas. Neither of us have ever been. So it looks like a no go this year

The food in WDW is sooooo much better than DL. Between all the parks and the hotels......omg, it's amazing. I want a trip there to do nothing but eat!
How's the birthday plans coming along? What sort of things do you have planned?

I'm a foodie courtesy of marrying my hubby so the signature choices at WDW are right up our alley (except for desserts! They need help!) We did the Deluxe Dining plan in May 2009 and YUM! (For the most part)

The birthday plans are good. 6 days till we are in Disneyland! I found someone to work for me Monday so I don't have to work a night shift and then fly down. Instead I will be up with excitement!

Once we arrive we will check into PPH and then head to Disneyland. I figure we can get a couple things with long waits out of the way such as the Parade and Fantasmic. We will do dinner at Goofy's inbetween the two.

The next 2 mornings will be MM. Tuesday is a full 7-midnight day (will most likely take a break) and Wednesday and Thursday are Grad nights so close at 9pm. Hoping we can use the hot tub those nights!

I have meals planned at Minnies, Carnation Cafe, Cafe Orleans, Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, Surf's Up, Ariel's for WoC preferred "standing"

Friday will be the day to do whatever my friend wants since it will be her last park day. She will leave Saturday around 4pm and I will move to the Doubletree. Since I am Blocked that day with my AP we will just hang out around the PPH and DtD.

I was so excited earlier this year when my cousin and I thought we could do a Halloween trip this year. I went late September last year and got to experience a lot of it but I really wanted to go to the Halloween Party. Bummed I had to cancel the trip, especially with my AP just yelling at me that I have regular admission covered. Just can't do it and expect to be able to afford both the 1/2 in January and then the girls trip 1 month later.

so off the subject but my dd just lost her lunch. She seems fine now so I am thinking maybe it was just something she ate didn't agree with her. Luckily the kids go with a friend of ours on Wednesdays so we don't need to worry about keeping her out of daycare as long as she doesn't throw up again. Ah, the joys of parenthood. I kind of wish I could stay home with her tomorrow, but it would be irresponsible of me not to go to work when I have a perfectly good alternative child care option.
