Morning everyone!

Wow what a crazy time right now! I can't believe they finally got Bin Laden. We watched a movie about Queen Victoria last night so I didn't hear anything about it till this morning but I am amazed and yet nervous about any ramications. I hope that they are minimal!

Gosh the boards have been really slow. Everyone must be off having fun!! That's a good thing though!!

We had a really nice time at the movie and although it wasn't one I would have picked and it wasn't Shelby's first choice it was still cute and the kids had a really good time. We then went across the street and had pizza and I brought cupcakes so it was a nice time. Then her best bud asked if she could come over and play so she went over to his house and played for a few hours so she was in heaven. I think she had a really great birthday so I am glad!!

Now today it is back to reality LOL. I have work today and then Shelby has piano and then they both have swim tonight. So LONG day today! Then tomorrow the girls both start their star testing at school and that lasts a week or so. And then this weekened we will be busy again. They have time trials which is a meet where they each swim all the events except for relays to get times so that the coaches can seed them for the competitive meets. Luckily it isn't as long as a regular meet but it is still a meet and it is cold in the mornings and usually HOT in the afternoons and just long hot tiring days. But they are still fun to watch the girls swim. And not sure what we are doing for mother's day yet. Last year we had a GREAT time. We took a drive downtown and toured the capitol and governor's mansion and then had lunch by the river. This year we are thinking about driving down by napa and taking a picnic but not sure.

Oh and Friday night Katy is going to be in a track meet for 5th and 6th graders and she is all excited about that. So it should be fun to watch her run!

Anyway so that is my busy week.

Stopped at the post office on my way in to work and got my welcome packet from DL about our June trip. It is all info I already know about and we got one similiar from DW when we went in Nov last year but still it really brighted my day to see it. It is amazing the little things that can really make your day!! I SOOO can't wait and now I just need to fight the guilt I have for even going with everything going on in our lives and just be excited (cuz I SOO am) and relish it!! I am so counting the days!!!

I've ordered DL vacation planning DVD's just for the fun of watching them.
All the day care kids are napping and I'm mellowing out to the Dixie Chicks. I know they're not everybodys cup of tea but they have some beautiful songs.

Sometimes a trip is the best thing to do when life just plain blows for whatever reason (money,health etc). The only thing to do is create something to look forward to. So I will be the last one to tell you that what you are doing is wrong...don't feel guilty food,water,shelter and a reason to keep going when things look their worst are necessities not luxuries.

It is a beautiful sunny day in Montana too ...and I danced to a Dixie Chicks song at my wedding...their voices are beautiful!

Sherrie you are so right. I know that getting away from it all is sometimes a necessity but I can't help feeling guilty sometimes.

Andrea enjoy the marathon. Hopefully some of the gals on here will do it as well. I know we have a few runners on here.

Gosh everyone must be on vacation or something the boards are really dead!

Not much on for me today. Just lots o laundry and such. Girls have their testing today and for the next week or so so that will keep them busy. They also are getting their new team suits at swim tonight.

I read that the new restaurants will be open the end of May at DLH so I am excited to hopefully try them while we are there. I am hoping you don't need a ps!

Hi January!

Just thought I would pop in and say hello! I have not been keeping up with the thread at all....I have been so busy with the kids, house, and I am my friends matron of honor in her wedding in June, not to mention my Hawaii trip is in a few days! Lots of excitement but I feel like a chicken with my head cut off! I have had a really awful cold for the past few days so have had a couple days off work. I am feeling a little better so I may try to go back to work tomorrow. I hope everyone is doing well!

My son's gma called me this morning since she is taking him for the weekend. She let me know that his dad is now in jail. I went to the courthouse and spent a few hours today getting forms and talking to the legal help about obtaining full custody now. I will have to wait till payday on Monday to file, but the process is started. This is not going to be fun...

Ugh. Sorry, Jen. That's just no fun at all.

Trip to my mom's was HELL. Which is where I'm going. I was a horrible daughter and I yelled at my mother and made her cry and I'm just so tired of it all that I don't even care. Yes, I'm a horrible human being. Trust me, I got a full run down on my shortcomings this weekend..... Don't even mention the royal wedding because she missed the 10 minute highlight reel because of me. She only has about 20 channels and even though I told her to watch her local 5PM news because they were sure to have the highlights, she insisted on watching FOX news instead and they didn't even have 2 minutes of it. Again, somehow my fault. I offered to stream some from the internet for her, but she didn't want to wait for it to load. It took too long. Probably my fault as well. Did I mention there is no drinking at mom's? Oh yeah. Fun times. Can we say, "flask of 100 proof peppermint schnapps in the toiletry bag", boys and girls? I had minty fresh breath Saturday night. That's for sure. Ugh. See what a fabulous mood I'm in? This is why I haven't checked in till now. You shoulda heard me yesterday.....

Awwww Lisa--I'm sorry it was such a bad trip. It sounds like this is not a new situation==but who would have thought at our age we would be dealing with crap like this? And if it's any consolation I'll be in Hell with you for many reasons! You bring the schnapps--I'll bring the gin!

Oh Lisa, I am so sorry that your mom is that way. But as far as being a bad daughter and going to hell, I am right there with you, sister! But I don't let it get me down. A big hello to January and Sarah! Sarah, I was wondering how you have been. Glad all is well (other than the cold) and that you are busy planning vacations and taking care of your beyond-cute kids.

I also think it's great that so many ladies are doing the marathon runs. Kudos to you all for taking such good care of yourselves and keeping in shape.

I hope Beth is having a fabulous vacation. We had a great time in San Diego, we missed seeing her by one day.

Morning all!

First of all congrats Marie!! That is awesome. I wish I could say I have lost weight but I have had NO luck this time. I have managed to lose about 40 lbs in the past a few different times and even kept it off for a few years but this last time it just flew back on for no reason and everything that I have done in the past has NOT worked so it has been really frustrating. I worked really hard for the first few months of the year and when I couldn't lose even a pound I kind of gave up. I am still trying to watch what I eat but I haven't been able to exercise much because I have hurt my neck and been having a bunch of bad headaches. Good luck on your journey and I hope you make your goal!!

Lisa I can totally relate. I don't know if my mom is quite as bad as what you are dealing with but we def have a love hate relationship. My mom is very close to me and we do a LOT together in fact we go on the diva trips together but we also work together and we live in one of their rental houses and when you are THAT involved with a parent sometimes it can get "overwhelming". My mom loves to play the martyr role and loves the guilt trips and we def have our times where we have our blowouts so I totally understand! I am sorry that your trip was so awful! Hopefully now that you are back home you can move on and have something better to look forward to soon!

I too keep thinking about Beth and it is funny so many of us have the smartphones now and such it is weird to think of one of us not able to or probably not really wanting to "check in" while on vacation. Dying to know how her trip is going!! Can't wait till she gets back to see her pics and hear all about it!!

Not much going on with me the next few days. Just more housework and the girls are still testing and swim practice. This weekend is when it is going to get busy but for now I am enjoying it while it is not too busy!!
