This one liked french fries. ;)

Purrrrrrrr.... I've never seen the kitties there. If I had, I probably would never leave there! LOL

Well, shoot. I'm sorry he got sick. Hope he feels better soon. And hopefully there's no flooding either. That sounds scary.

The flooding they are expecting is street and creek, but we have a couple low spots in back (one is up against the house under the bedroom window) that need to be "bailed" or swept out if they start to puddle too badly. If it rains a LOT for many days, then we start seeing the Army Corps out on the levees. THAT is when it gets SCARY and I make sure the evac box is up to date and ready to go. Gotta love living in a flood plain..... :scared1:

DH is in bed, snoring like a whole family of bears. My house smells like vicks vap-o-rub.... LOL

Oooh, I love the coloring on the second kitty. Very pretty.

I agree. She's gorgeous. They all look like they have some Maine Coon in them too.

I saw a DL cat this last trip. As we took the train around the park, back behind ROA where the "Indian camp" is - you know the "deer" that are along the water? There was a cat, SLEEPING on the back of one of the deer. I couldn't get my camera out in time. It was really funny.

:thumbsup2 Beth, I will find a picture of me this weekend to post.

I have always wanted to see the Disney Kitties! Never have though!

Just bought some new Rachel Ray pots and pans, I can not wait to use them. It is funny what makes you excited the older you get :lmao: But I am beside myself with excitement! My first real set of cookware!

LOL! I got mine after my dad passed away in 2003. I spent the BIG BUCKS and bought a set of Calphalon. Best. Purchase. EVER. Having awesome tools in my kitchen has totally changed how I feel about cooking. I used to HATE it. Now I watch the Food Network. Go figure. LOL

So I totally get where you are coming from!

Dinner with my family was fun tonight. My mom started talking about how excited she was to find some connection on a computer used the letter EAC - her initials. However she was totally lost when I looked at her and asked: "Do you have an exit buddy?" in my best surfer-dude speak. I have not trained her well, I'm afraid.

I love the food network, I like to try new recipes. My motivation was that we are going to gut the kitchen and re-do our cabinets this summer, so I figured new pans would get me a little excited to start gutting our old stuff and cleaning it out.

Beth~ Nope Brooke was not in any pain at all. She never cried or acted like there was something wrong. Then there was 2 teeth. Pretty darn crazy.
That's good. Some babies are in such pain when they are teething.

Wow, you have an evac box and everything. Sounds like you are well prepared just in case.

:rotfl: Aw, I bet that was really funny and cute!

Sounds good. And enjoy your new pots and pans. I agree, the things that excite us as we age can be very surprising.

Have a good night ladies! I rented the movie "Leap Year" so I'm going to go watch that. I've seen it before and it's only so-so, but I LOVE the scenery.

I'm buying a floor steamer this weekend and I too am beside myself with excitement.:rotfl:

NO! she had problems and almost delivered a month early in subzero weather.

I hadn't heard of that before in horses, I'm assuming she had an incompetent cervix? I had the same surgery when I was pregnant:sad1: Hope the birth goes well!

I grew up in the SF Bay Area, so we always had an "earthquake box". And when I started driving, I kept a dufflebag with basics in the trunk of my car in case I was away from home during an earthquake and couldn't get back. Then after the flooding up here in the early 90's, they suggested having a "flood kit", so DH and I each have a Home Depot Bucket with a lid and there is a rubbermaid box for Coco along with a pop up "dog house" (big enough to put a small litterbox, dishes and bedding in) out in the garage. I also have a "big dog" leash in case my neighbor isn't home and we have to leave. I can get their dog out.

Oh that is exciting!!

I want one of those one day.

We have all wood floors, and sweeping, dusting, and cleaning them with dog and cat hair, let alone mopping them, gets to be way toooo much!

I love that movie and want to go to Ireland :). FYI-I have the biggest freakin crush on Matthew Goode! :teeth: He is a hottie and a half and has the coolest eyes :) <sigh>. lol. He is also my wallpaper on my phone ;) I get asked a lot if he is my bf. I just say "Sure! Why not? " lol

Hey Beth!
The tag fairy only gives me tags that are weight related

Aw, and thanks about Maddie's pic. :goodvibes

At least you have tags. The fairy may never find me. Where is she the zingers fly on this board she should hang out here more and we would all have tags.

I hadn't heard of that before in horses, I'm assuming she had an incompetent cervix? I had the same surgery when I was pregnant:sad1: Hope the birth goes well!

Thank You!!!! I have been trying to remember what it is called all day when people ask why she had stitches!

After growing up in So Cal I still have an emergency kit in Montana. We have evrything we need to leave home either in the suburban or on foot. Our complete 3 day kit is in a rolling rubbermaid trash can. Every year we take it camping once to ensure we truly have everything we need and then we replace the water/MREs etc that we used on the trip. In this way we have added things we forgot over the years and nothing goes bad (have you ever tasted bottled water way past it's prime? yucky) meds in the kit are not expired, band-aids still stick, MREs get rotated and we know should anything happen we are prepared. (it even has keep busy stuff like coloring books & crayons for Colton)

edited to add we have all the stuff for our dogs and our neighbors too. :)

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd drop in and say, "Hi!" It's been a rough week and I'm about 20 pages behind on here already! I started the Biggest Loser on the W.I.S.H. section of the forums. This is my first week, and I lost 3.8 lbs! With any luck, nobody will recognize me (at least not right away) at the 2012 meet & greet :-)

Now, to try and get caught up with y'all.

Great job on the weight loss!

Just got back from meeting the vet. My lovely horse Rowan has had the stitches removed from her cervix and we can expect a new baby in the next 24-48 hours!

Exciting!

Awwww, one looks just like my Linus. He's been gone for a few years, but this picture just brings me back.

Morning everyone!!

It's supposed to rain all weekend but for the moment it has seemed to clear up a bit! :) I think the girls and I will take the opportunity to run out and make a loop. Have to take our videos back and drop shane's UE form in the mail and then run to mom's to check on stuff at her place.

The movies we got were all actually pretty decent. Girls LOVED Megamind. I didn't watch most of it although it looked pretty cute. My soul to take was a wes craven movie and OK not too bad. And Let me In was actually about a girl that was a vampire so I liked it. Def no Twilight LOL but still good! ;)

January thanks for the well wishes. Yes it is great that dh is back to work. In fact he is even working today as a matter of fact! They had a job downtown that they couldn't work in an office building while the workers were there so they had to do it on the weekend and then next week he goes back to houses in Tracy so we are hoping it lasts awhile but the bad thing about housing tracks is they will do a house or two and then when they finish one they have to wait till the next one is ready for the tile and if the shop doesn't have any other work they get laid off again. Plus having to drive all the way to Tracy or the bay area he doesn't get paid for drive time. It REALLY sucks! I personally think he SHOULD and have never heard of a job where they don't pay you for your drive time but in this day and age they don't have a lot of options and it is either take what you can or don't work at all. So for now we are hoping he stays working for a while but at least after this week he can start collecting umeployment if he is off again so that is good.

Anyway not much else going on round here. Like I said the weather is still pretty ugly as Lisa mentioned and we are very lucky in that we live up pretty high although our basement always floods but we have a pump so it's not too bad. My house that I owned back in 93 flooded though (Lisa I am sure you remember THOSE floods of 95) and our entire house flooded and our fence blew down it was a real mess. So I feel awful for people when that happens. We had really bad floods here in 86 too!

That's pretty much it for me. Hope everyone has a good day/weekend and has something fun planned!!

Good morning, everyone! Happy Saturday to you all. :hippie:

I'm buying a floor steamer this weekend and I too am beside myself with excitement.:rotfl:
Now this would be a cute tag for you. Can you tell I really want the tag fairy to come visit?? ;)

I grew up in the SF Bay Area, so we always had an "earthquake box".
I grew up in SoCal, so I am very familiar with the earthquake kits. My mom had one for the family. I have to admit, I'm not nearly as well prepared. I really should be because you just never know.

LOL Sure, why not, indeed! :thumbsup2 I have never, ever had the desire to travel outside of the United States. Never. But for some reason lately, I am obsessed with all things relating to Ireland and Scotland. :confused3 And now I really want to go there.
Hmmmm, Diva trip to Ireland, perhaps? ;)

she should hang out here more and we would all have tags.
I agree!

Hi Kelly, and Tina and anyone else I missed!

Well, have a great day everyone. Not sure what we are going to do here. It's much cooler than it was last weekend, which I actually love, so I hope we go out and do something..... We'll see.
TTYL!! :)

Good morning everyone! Was sitting here enjoying the respite from the rain but no... here it comes again! My poor dog does not understand why we don't go for our normal long walk on the levee when it is raining!

I still can't believe that the tag fairy did come out after the trip - there were some great lines!

All this talk about earthquake kits reminds me I need to check on ours to see if anything is out of date and needs to be replaced - I forget about it most of the time!

Have a great weekend!
